Tempest gives chills, it has better bridges, better transitions between parts, it has a filling/satisfying ending.

Rosemary is cool, but it is too nude. After a while chorous is gonna bore you. The ending is cool but not killer and not better than beware part. It reminds Diamond Eyes ending, but still better.

To me, Rosemary is a song about two people that are lovers taking a hallucinogenic together. LSD comes to mind, but it could be anything else (shrooms, X, etc). Tripping with someone you love can be a beautiful, enthralling experience, and I really feel like Chino is trying to demonstrate that kind of visceral experience through this song. I know i am probably wrong, but that is one of the great things about Deftones. The lyrics can be interpreted in many ways. 

After listening to the track a few times, I thought this very same thing last night. Just different parts of the song and lyrics definitely conveys that message (for me at least) "our minds set free to roam." "time shifts, we discover the entry" & "our minds bend (blend) and our fingers fold." and the "stay with me as we cross the empty skies. come sail with me, we play in dreams. crawl through space and time."

I'm sure the song isn't literally about tripping with a lover - but funny how I interpreted it as that as well. I guess because I was with my girl there other night, we tripped and listened to this song in my car and I was mind fucked at how perfect the lyrics fit the moment we were in.. it was really surreal.

Hello everyone newbie here.  I became a big fan of Deftones fan after White Pony and loved their first three albums and they kind of lost me with ST.  Then came SNW and all of my hope and then some was restored in this band, Why does that album always get such a bad rap?  Probably my favorite album they've done.  Anyway, DE was another album that just floored me how amazing this band is.  They have just gotten better with age and Rosemary and Tempest have reaffirmed that.  Can't wait for the new album and if anyone has time to send me Rosemary I would appreciate it.

That's why I was saying I was gonna hardly listen to the new songs. I did that with Rocket Skates. You cant keep playing the same song and then ask for another wen you get bored; the album isnt out yet, you either have to be patient or ration your new Deftones listens.
