I don't trust that douchebag. People who write for metal magazines have never understood Deftones.
I think it's the other way around. People like you, or i should say like us, are totally BIASED, because we know what we want of a deftones record, and have decided what is a good deftones record before hand, and we judge a new album with that biased view.
I personally thrust more the opinion on someone that never heard deftones than fanboys like you guys.

Haha i love that bald guy in the vid. "I'd take Saturday Night Wrist right up my arse"

Who knows what song he was talking about, maybe Dazzle/Entombed or Swerve City?

the heavy (bouncy) one? I think we saw an article saying that the heavy track was Romantic dreams.

Yeah could be, love how everyone is just expecting that song to be WGTB/Elite-heavy now haha.

I really hope so. I'm not a big fan of those last "bouncy" ones aka. Rats!Rats!Rats! and CMND/CTRL.

I'm not expecting anything like the onslaught of wgtb. DE was their pop record, KNY will be their spacey ethereal album. The days of elite, wgtb, rats and all that are done. I'm not disappointed about it. Evolution is key for survival and its working for deftones on a success scale. In the songs we've heard there's all of 4 or 5 screams so far in 4 songs (chinos yelling in poltergeist doesn't count, it's still clean vocals. Same goes for leathers) so I'm certainly not expecting any of that. They're either in or almost at their 40's so to expect more screamy brutal heavy shit is just silly to me.

Idk, i would say Chino is married now and has kids and all that , but he has had that stuff for a lot of good and brutal songs.

Yljr right theyre just probably getting to old for that .. but may i say .. dont underestimate the deftones ;) chino is sorta old for his age but even in the recent concerts he still screams the shit out of that mic! Haha .. so what im trying to get to is that we still havnt heard the album .. weve heard 4 songs so far .. theyre somewhat soft yes .. but theres still 7 unknown songs .. dont doubt the deftones bro they always surprise everyone with these albums they put out ;)

as a producer it really irks me when people call overdubs a cover.

As a grade A douchebag, it really irks me when people call someone playing along on a guitar an overdub.

At least you can admit it.

This is a cover Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop Upright Bass Cover

If anyone can rip this better recording, I would like a copy. This was the guy on the Vinyl Collective forums - some people on the internet are good to their word!
