you can tell the outro goes out of tune with steph's 8string (wich is obvious)

in any case, this cover is sick. really groovy and slick. awesome man. looking forward for these tabs.

Thanks dude. Yeah Stephs part was a bit challenging especially doing it on a six string guitar. 8 string timbre has alot more grunge and low end so thats why it sounds a bit off, however I appreciate the kind words!

Metal Hammer Podcast 213 Part 1: New Deftones Album Koi No Yokan Previewed!

If you haven't seen: These annoying guys talk a bit about the album, few minutes in.

Can you summarize what they said.? I can't listen to that shit.  Those guys just might be the most annoying people I've seen in my entire life.

Lol, basically he talks about a song in particular which is a 'banger' and he says is one the of coolest things ever written. 'So bouncy' and makes you want to 'moonwalk across the ceiling.' Apparently the type of song Deftones rarely release, in a similar vein to Elite. It's 'proper, proper good.'

One of the three, who is not as into Deftones as the other two, got invited to hear it and he really, really liked it. It's allegedly less heavier than Diamond Eyes, but one song in particular is supposed to be a very heavy and bouncy song unlike everything Deftones have ever written and, according to him, one of the best songs they have ever done. I guess he means Romantic Dreams.

I don't trust that douchebag. People who write for metal magazines have never understood Deftones.

Haha, love your skepticism. You are right though, 90% of the time the journalist for metal mags and other publishers usually are a bunch of fruit cakes who have no sincere liking to the tones' nor a well versed understanding  to properly interview and review Deftones news and new material.

Well he's heard it, we don't have an opinion on it yet. At least he said something we didn't know. I watched another clip where they discussed Deftones and I think two of them have pretty much been fans and following them since the 90s. There's nothing to 'understand', Deftones is different to everyone, the lyrics are completely interpretable as well as the music. I hate this notion that we are somehow a cut above everyone.

Man, I really hate the chorus in Rosemary. They should just cut the boring one chord for 30 minutes shit. Didn't work on Beauty School. Doesn't work now.

Vesanic

What don't you like about the chorus?

as a producer it really irks me when people call overdubs a cover.

As a grade A douchebag, it really irks me when people call someone playing along on a guitar an overdub.

It is 100% anti-climactic shit with no drive or momentum. It's like they suddenly go into reverse. Same thing in Beauty School.

DEFTONES -Rosemary (guitar overdub) just sounds strange to me.. I did my take on it, so I consider that a cover. Same with millions of other people who post videos of them playing their instruments along with songs on the net.  I just tagged as that so the viewer instantly knows what they're watching.

Really? Even Chino's monotonous singing? It's like a two tone lullaby for people who can't sing. Don't get me wrong, I like the rest of the song. But the chorus just rubs me the wrong way.

The chorus is just beautiful, I noticed about 'one tone part' but the vocal work and the back vocals are just amazing, Vega did a great work there. The lyrics are amazing, maybe one of the most beauty and lovely parts I've heard from Chino, the "stay with me, as we cross the earth to skyes" works a lot for me.

BTW, I think KNY will be the Dark Side Of The Moon of the Deftones, really believe the intro of Rosemary and the outro belongs to Gauze and Goon Squad respectively, and these kind of connections create a great atmosphere.

I see your point, I like it because it has space in it. I felt like the Tempest and Leather chorus' felt a bit too busy vocally. This one sounds less radio friendly and a bit more unconventional. Maybe its its a case of less is more in my opinion.
