Koi No Yokan thread

I don't care about the album title, cover, names of the songs ect... the music is sounding good, and that's all that matters to me.

I like the album art, it's..kind of cryptic? Or I'm blind, because I'm still trying to decipher what exactly I'm looking at...It's obviously a reflectio  looking into a room I believe, but that's only because of an interpretation I heard:P I don't like Tempest at all. My absolute least favorite song on the album thus far. I think that they should've used Rosemary as their lead single, best thing I've heard of off KNY hands down. Not impressed with KNY as of now, but the album art is possibly my favorite ever next to Saturday Night Wrist, White Pony, and Diamond Eyes. Though I do think they should've went back to the cursive "Deftones" they used on previous albums.

I don't get what the hate is about it's just an album cover regardless this one isn't even bad i'm just glad it's recognisable ,but i will say i loved the SNW and DE covers.

Also, I just realized this will be the first deftones record I will not buy on any physical medium.

Why is that? I'm lost...

I remember when the S/T cover was released people talked so much shit on it. Then SNW...then DE. Not everyone is going to like everything. I tend to like their album covers because none of them are the same. At all; Adernaline has a fucking baby booger pump thing, ATF has a photo of a girl from an awkward position, White Pony is minimal, S/T is full on color and boldness, SNW is a spacey collage, and DE is an owl [haha]. Now KNY is something totally different from what they've done. No object, very vague yet a lot going on at the same time. I love it.

Just like their music. Every album sounds different. No matter what anyone says, not one albums sounds like another. I want that same crooning, shoegaze inspired vocals back, but you know what? If Chino doesn't want to sing that way, then so be it. It's their art. I feel a certainty in the way they talk about this album and if they like it and are proud of it, that's fucking awesome!

I think the new album cover is pretty sweet. Oh wait noooo, must prove i'm not a fanboy, ahhhhh  i mean actually it's lame. Leathers and Tempest are cool songs, awwww shit nevermind I mean I saw some ppl hating on those songs so I must not think for myself and agree, to impress my peers. Really though i've been to five of their concerts and had a great time at everyone. I was at the Detroit show when Bin Laden was killed. Constructive criticism I get, but some these posts are so imprudent that it's bizarre. I'm grateful that they're still together and making exceptional music. I mean really Chino is 39, I don't think he wants to write songs where he screams his lungs out, common sense would tell you that.

I think Koi No Yokan cover feels like it would be electronic music. Much like Kraftwerk, Daft Punk, Justice, or similar bands. Thinking even a little bit of Tron. and it feels a bit un-deftonic. In my opinion, the S/T and SNW (Even DE) covers is the "real" deftones style that I associate them with. but it's different for everyone. Probably all the pieces falls in place when you hear the disc.

I'm not gonna listen to a leak if it comes out early. I like the anticipation of waiting. It's a special and underappreciated time in today's music imo. People want everything NOW. Some of the magic of waiting for the record has been lost. Eh I digress.

Totally agree here. I am going to try my hardest not to as well. I have only heard Tempest and Leathers, so I could technically still hear live renditions of Rosemary and Poltergeist but I think I will wait for the album.
