yeah i miss the old font too, i mean i like this better than the owl on DE but i dont know thes on "object" that is is uually prevalent in 'Tones covers.

I especially like the objects on the atf and snw covers.

Looks like I'm pretty much the only one who was disappointed by Tempest. Not a terrible song, but nothing worth all the ass kissing it's getting. You don't have to like it just because it's a deftones song, which is the vibe I get from a lot of people. It just sounds nothing like them, not in a good way. Leathers on the other hand is fucking great.

I cant speak for everyone else, but I never like their songs just because it's Deftones. I do, however, love pretty much every song they've made except for a handful. They just make brilliant music to me that I've never consistently disliked. People have different opinions, that's all. It sounds very different for them, or at least, it doesnt sound like anything they've made in a long time, but personally I feel like it does still contain their core elements. That's what I love about this band, they take influences frm their past albums, go down some new paths, yet still keep their sound. I love Tempest and Leathers, but I'm really limiting how much I listen to them. With DE I'd listened to Rocket Skates quite possibly 100s of times before DE came out. It didnt ruin the album for me or anything, but overplaying anything risks getting bored.

About the album cover, I love it. I've never been much of a fan of any of their album covers before except for SNW, and I can see the similarities in terms of font/layout, the way there seems to be multiple images, etc. I just wish I knew what the fuck I was looking at.

All I know is, I love what I've heard, I love the fact that many are longer songs, I love that Entombed has Stephen playing differently, and I love that it they appear to be going in a more complex, "out there" direction than DE.

I think the reason I don't like Tempest is because of what you stated above. I don't really feel that they ever make songs that sound exactly the same and they go in different directions but as you said it always has that 'Deftones' sound to it. I just don't hear that with Tempest. It's not a bad song. Like any Deftones song, it blows pretty much anything else currently being played on radio/tv out of the water, but I feel like it's a bit of a weak song FOR THEM. I agree with some of the comments that it just feels a bit generic. Just my opinion though. I very much enjoy Leathers and Rosemary. Also, the album cover isn't bad. Not amazing, but still cool. Blows SNW out of the water. I don't understand why there is so much love for that cover. Then again, my favorite covers are those of Adrenaline, and especially ATF. I also liked the Diamond Eyes cover ALOT more than everyone else, but that may have just been because I like owls lol. But yeah, ultimately I'm glad to see them doing what they do best and going in different directions without REALLY losing their sound. Regardless of how I may feel about one song, I'm still excited for the album, and I will still buy and probably love it. Only thing I can't do is go to the upcoming show. I love this band but we don't all have 120 bucks to drop on tickets for a concert. God I fucking hate concerts. So unnecessarily expensive.

so i didn't want to listen to Rosemary ( or Polergeist ) because live recording never really sounds good, especially with deftones. but i found a great one and seriously, this is the best melody/chorus chino has written, well probably since white pony, or maybe even ever. IMO. god this has potential to become my fav song from them, no joke.
