I don't know about y'all, but now that I think about it, I"m kinda bummed now that by the time the album comes out, we're already going to have heard like half the album... We've already heard countless recordings of Rosemary and Poltergeist (Roller Derby) so let's just say that equals the studio versions, plus Leathers and now Tempest... And who knows, we may even have another track or at least an official snippet of another song... so 4 or 5 songs... By the time the album comes out I'm already going to be skipping over songs because I've played these preview ones out already. And from what I hear, the rest of the tracks are probably going to be slower songs like Sex Tape and Beauty School, which I skip on DE most of the time. Just not my favorite kind of tracks.. Same with Change, BQAD, Minerva... Just most of their slow singles... (The "gay" songs...)

What do y'all think about that? Don't get me wrong, I love to hear these songs as they come, and I still feel like we have the whole record to discover, but in reality we've already heard at least a third of it!

But  Change and BQAD arent even slow songs. I thought you would have grown out of the aggressive side, they havent made a good aggressive song since ATF, check that, S/T.

Totally agree that's the whole reason why i listen to the deftones whatever mood your'e in there's is a deftones song to fit it i don't want someone yelling at me all the time they can't always be up in your face, plus their forty year old men they've lost that teenage angst they would look fucking stupid if they released a song like 7 words now and Chinos voice is so sweet it'd be a crime if he just screamed all the time, and those so called gay songs are the reason why they are still going otherwise they would of died off like the rest of the so called nu metal bands.

I'm not saying I don't dig any of the slower shit, not that at all. To me some of those songs just aren't as exciting I guess... And I've just played them out because I've heard them so much. Same with any one of their singles. I want to say I don't like to listen to any of their singles now except for Diamond Eyes and YSTB for some reason. Maybe because those are the newest... But I've just played them out and so I skip all of their singles when I'm listening to a CD... Not that I don't like those songs. There's just a habit of their singles being (to me) the less interesting songs on the records, most of the time they're the slower songs. That's why some people I know never really gave the band a chance because they may have just heard Change or something, which I think doesn't represent the band that well. I think their best work is always the other songs on the album, not the singles... Just my opinion. I might not even be explaining myself correctly, I just woke up ha

Hexagram is still my most listened Deftones song hands down. I don't think I'll ever get tired of it. Diamond Eyes is probably the only one I really skip. Not a fan of that song at all. I've been trying not to overplay Leathers and I avoid Rosemary and Poltergeist completely now. I want the album to feel fresh on first listen. It's tough to avoid Leathers though since my band covers it when we jam so I have to know it inside and out. Oh well.

I understand what your'e saying now just some people on this site seem to be want another ATF or adrenaline and then get shitty with anything else,it surprises how some people do this if there is one you can guarantee about a new deftones record its that it won't be the same as what they've already done. TBH I skip a lot of the songs on DE to mainly because it was the only cd i had in my car for ages so i heard it heaps but i've started listening to it again for first time in a while and its a really good cd there's a couple i love and the rest are good but there is also no songs i hate.

Heard from my source that got the "Leathers" date right that we will hear something very soon today.

Exciting times for Deftones fans. Relish this moment of anticipation, we won't get another one until they release their next album (if they do).

But yeah, you can't really trust radio guys.

If those songs are gay, I really hope the new album takes me up the arse.

Seriously though, 'gay' as an insult?  ::)
