Anyone know what album deal they're on now? I can't remember how many albums their original contract allowed.

I was wondering that this morning. It seemed folks thought covers finished their contract with Warner but perhaps not since it was only a small vinyl release. In that case KNY would end their contract unless they've re-signed.

I don't think we'll see terry back on another deftones album. They're obsessed with their new work ethic an he enabled their laziness.

I wish they would. Nick makes things too polished. Guitars don't sound as big and the way he records drums irritates me. Abe's playing on diamond eyes is great but the drums sound like shit.

I agree with that sentiment. However, as others have said, we're not going to get another album with Terry Date. I can't speak for others, but the reason that I'd like to see Terry back is because I'd basically like to hear something similar to Around The Fur. However, I don't think that will ever happen. And that's okay. They were at a whole different point in their lives at that time. That's why that album is so great. It captured that moment in time for them. But they don't operate the same way the used to in many ways, not just musically. Chino said he recorded most of the album drunk. Which is fine. But he doesn't wanto to record like that anymore, and that's fine too. That album really encapsulates their youth at that time. It would be weird for them to make another album like that at this point in their lives, I think. Like any good band, they're evolving, or at least changing.

I can't believe it took me this long to discover this forum.

Diamond Eyes killed everything else released in 2010. Truth! I'm not just saying that because I'm an obsessive fan either.

They have a ton of momentum going into KNY. They wrote and finished the album in just over two years from DE; it's obvious they're burning on all cylinders like they were on the previous record. Plus, Leathers sounds absolutely blast.
