holy shit is bob dylan still alive

dude must be a fossil by now
He is. I saw him perform about two years ago.  Certainly a shadow of hia former self, but definitely alive and kicking.  His new album "Tempest" just came out.

It's interesting how the member minusblindfold finds such a difference and is bothered by the Deftones' change in guitar sound after S/T, yet there is a much bigger difference between the sound of the guitar on SNW compared to DE.

There Will Be Blood

I doubt its a cover... its just a coincidence

only pieces remain

it's not a cover. No label would go for that.

heythere

Personally, I think the song is beautiful.  While definitely not their most challenging song, I appreciate the soundscape, and I think sometimes you just need a song to bang your head to. For me, that's what Leathers is.

It rocks.

my guess is the new album will be Diamond Eyes part 2. You will get a few hardcore songs, a few midtempo songs and the usual 3 or 4 commercial ballads because every album seems have Change in the house of flies parts 9, 10 and 11.  It will be another solid deftones album, just nothing groundbreaking or experimental, those days are long gone....until Eros comes out...Deftones are becoming a little predictable like the Chili Peppers. Every RHCP album seems to have 3 or 4 dif versions of under the bridge, the same way every deftones album has 3 or 4 versions of change/BQAD....fuck the ballads already

bewareofrats

First of all, I think this album will have experimentation.  Second, we just had experimentation on SNW so it wouldn't be that long gone if it was.

Jacob

anyone who thinks Tempest is a cover simply because Bob Dylan just released an album and song with the same name is a moron. sorry to say it, but you are.

why would they release a cover as first single of their new album? especially of a song that was just released, and they had probably not even heard by the time they had written and started recording the album. if by any weird chance it were a cover, don't you think they would have mentioned that at some point by now?

fucking 5-year old logic going around here some of the time. after 10 years at this place, it still amazes me what kind of idiots this band attracts.
pray nightfall release me
then i could wander, wander to deep sleep

Wtf? So random dude

i dont care about the new sound but if in one song appears the  motherfucker of the  'dillinger escape plan' i will be so fucking upset.

FUCK COLLABORATIONS!

Robotsatemygrandma

All you nay sayers! DAMNS YOU ALL TO HELLS!!!!!! Just kidding. :P

But seriously. Leathers is good shit. I listened to it in the car (thank you smart phones), I was blown away. It sounds like a good  compliment to DE. The "soundscaping" is beautiful, Frank really shines and Stef, Serg, and Abe's tightness as a unit is on full display.

If this is any indication to what the album sounds like, Rosemary is going to blow my mind.

I know the Dillinger Escape Plan isn't everyone's bag of tea... but Greg is a pretty good singer. Considering he had to learn material performed by Mike Patton before stepping up to the mic and taking over.

For anyone who hasn't read/watched this one yet:

Apparently Swerve City was going to be the first single and the record company changed it to Tempest just a few days ago hrmm..

Stupid that they can tell them what to release..

Also says that they think some or all of Eros will be out at some point.
this is seriously one of the best interviews iv ever seen with them. Hearing him talk about eros is amazing, cant wait for part 2.
