Someone to do with Metal Hammer tweeted about a big announcement on September 21st. But deleted it.

Which could mean that it has some UK/European element to it.

About Donk. Since Velvet Hammer became their management and Maverick stopped and they became Warner/Island things have changed. So I think it's just the label in control of the whole website thing. I liked the previous DE site though cuz it was sort of interactive. Fans could add photo's and there was 'The Live Project'... where the hell is that anyway....

If they do release a song on tuesday, I get the feeling it'll be the evening (on their time zone). Which sucks, because for some reason I've always gotten it into my head that wen something is released, it's at midnight. Probably because I'm impatient as fuck. That'll suck though, because every minute that passes it'll feel even more like a song being released isnt true. C'mon Deftones, dont let us down, new song!!

Also, I first gt into Deftones sometime in 2009 I think, so I was looking forward to DE, but I hadnt been a fan for very long, so it's different this time around where it's not like I've had their entire music as new to me to pass time waiting for another album. Now it's real excitement and real impatience.

Nah they'll release it pretty early.. they would want all the music blog sites to be posting it and spreading it like wild fire all day. In my opinion.

I don't know if we'll get a song by tomorrow but I hope we get it by Friday at least.  Diamond Eyes was possibly my most anticipated album of all time.  I really got into Deftones after SNW was released and loved that particular creative high and after years in between, naturally couldn't wait for the next one.  DE is a really good album and it is something special but it couldn't live up to SNW in my mind.  I am extremely excited about Koi No Yokan, more than I thought I might be.  Probably because it sounds like it will be less streamlined and based on Rosemary it's seeming to be true.

I love that DE is the way that it was though.  It needed to be as a re-juvenation and was the right time to have a more cohesive, high passion album.  Now that it's done its thing I look forward to more experimentation.

Definitely. I loved DE for what it was, but it seemed to lack a certain 'edge' that was there on albums like White Pony, S/T, and SNW. DE was more straightforward, compact. I get the feeling that Koi No Yokan will have that same focused, high energy drive behind it along with the depth of the older albums.

DE also had a really positive vibe to it, which is fantastic. But the darker side of Deftones has always had more of an emotional impact on me. I think we'll see hints of that on Koi No Yokan as well.

Off topic from the new release, I hope there is an instrumental track somewhere on KNY. "Fist" and "... Start, Select" were some fun songs. I'd like to see where the band is jam wise now and with Sergio.
