Some people take samples too be to representative there only 30 seconds long you never know with the deftones Chino could just burst into screaming at anytime

He can't scream for shit anymore. The pathetic attempts in Leathers are enough. Please, no more screaming on this record, Chino.
His studio screams still sound pretty good, but my whole point was deftones songs aren't as predictable as other artists

Come on, mang. Deftones are not exactly Mr. Bungle.
whatever man to each his own,you are obviously a fan of their earlier stuff, just think you just going to be disappointed with any future deftones they've moved on from ATF

That is the one thing that has kept me interested in the band is the continual artistic progression. If I wanted the old I can just go find the old records that I constantly blast. I like every record being its own beast.

That's why i like them so much aswell i can't listen to the same kind of music for long before i start getting bored ,if they hadn't changed i would get put off all their albums but because their so diverse i just change what album i listen to.

DenOndaNissen

Im so sick of waiting. Can we get an official album stream at least? Thats better than illegal leaks that will be floating around soon.

Entombed

Really enjoyed the clip of Entombed, enough to make it my username on this page. I've listened through the clips a few times and it sounds relatively progressive, but I think it's going to sound pretty mainstream in comparison to a great deal of their work. That's just my input though and I've only heard 4 songs and 30 second clips of the others.

Definitely, I mean if you play their entire archive on random it doesn't get old because every album has a different energy. And it comes across on the tracks. You can go from ATF to WP to Adrenaline to DE and it will always change in tone while listening. Love it.

The progression and continual growth of Deftones yet still keeping that groove of what makes them them is what keeps me coming back. Like another poster said a while back, just be glad they haven't gone into corny lazy chesse/ass territory...Incubus.

Entombed

Or go Korn and attempt Dubstep.

Yes it just seems like a sad attempt to stay relevant

Entombed

I can't say the Deftones have ever really had a "miss" album. They've had some songs I'm not thrilled with, but they've been solid through every release and have progressed their sound rather than sell out. The only album I was somewhat disappointed with was SNW and it wasn't so much because of the songs, it was because of the production value. Remember though, this is just my opinion. I still enjoyed the album overall, so go easy on me  ;D.

Yeah that was the shitty era of Deftones because the band didn't even record the SNW together. They did their sessions all seperate. But the album still was pretty good which is impressive LOL

Yeah SNW isn't my favourite because it lacked consistency it had some real gems like Riviere that are in my top 10 but it also had some of their worst in my opinion (pink cellphone and mein) but i think the gems make up for those lol still a good album but if i had to choose my least favourite it'd be that  purely because it's not an album i can just let play i'm always skipping songs

Okay, after listening to the snippets over the last couple of days, I'm pretty confident to say Chino will ruin this record. He's just belting out high note refrains at this point. No more dynamics, no more crooning, no more whispering, no more drunken sexiness, no more slightly off key melodies, no more experiments. Just the same fucking OOOHOHOOOH WE ARE THE KINGS OF THE UNIVERSE chorus over and over again.

That's how you do it, Chino.

Entombed

I was really happy to hear them finally perform "Riviere" live. I didn't see them during their last trip to Chicago, but I plan to on their next trip around. Wanted to see them after the album came out so I could hear the new stuff live.

I hope one day we are blessed with EROS.

What I've realized personally, is that if I know as a fan there's unreleased Deftones material, I want to partake in that audible chocolate.

I honestly don't expect it until they retire from the industry.
