These songs were not meant to be digested in small chunks.

i know... i remember playing the s/t clips from deftonesworld, i liked them quite a lot and had an idea of how the songs would be. but they turned out to be different songs when i heard all of them in their entirely, and by then i absolutely loved them. i think the clips can give away an overall feeling about the mood/sound of the record - which direction it will take. but to say this or that song is good bad is too soon. fun though

thats the same link i posted earlier and its fake i guess

But the file was only uploaded an hour ago and the website it came from posts legit leaks.

Then it gets taken down straight away, plus the same person says on Yahoo that its legit.

Sounds fishy....
The sky is falling down
The night is calling you
A star is burning out
The sky belongs to you

Wouldn't it be safe for someone to put this on Pirate Bay? Now that they're completely on cloud storage? Warner wouldn't be able to do shit about that.

Ugh, the snippet of "What Happened To You?" stuck in my head. As far as I can tell from the samples, this will be my favorite of the album.

xToxin

Yeah it's great. It sounds like Team Sleep.

I already said that a couple of pages ago, but the bassline with its "dun dun dun dudun dun" is excellent!

I was fighting the urge to listen to the samples, but i caved. and my fucking god, this album is gonna be awesome. :D

snippet review!  Now.

uhmmmm well i only listened to it once. trying to keep it all as fresh until a leak or the actual album. However, this album sounds more promising than Diamond Eyes for sure.

Sound a little like Rx Queen, really love that bassline

that bassline has a 80's feel, it instantly made me think of... Phil Collins  ;D

some reviews compared some songs to foo fighters, arena rock, and now fans compres them to phil motherfucking collins. i wonder how far deftones can push it without ppl going "ok,that's just not them". gladly for deftones and their label, a huge amout of fans will always swallow everything they put out no matter what and no matter how corny it will sound  ;D

How about you then? You talk about them like you are not really a fan anymore.

I haven't listened to the 30 second clips an probably won't. I'm a bit skeptical though. I don't know if I'm going to love this album. I really like Leathers (mostly becase my band covers it an its really fun to play), Rosemary I really like but it doesn't blow me away but Tempest just kind of bores me. Seems most songs on the album will be in that style. I'm okay with that and it's exactly what I expected but when Deftones music stops affecting me on an emotional level it'll change for me. I fear that may be the case with KNY. Doesn't seem they're taking that many risks with their sound after the success of DE.

After listening to the snippets... I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Very different, refreshing sounds and melodies. Very upbeat.

Swerve City: Nice, but a lot happier-sounding than I expected.
Romantic Dreams: Doesnt sound that good frm the 30-second clip, but 30 seconds isnt enough to get the real feel of a song that's meant to be full of tempo-changes and whatnot.
Leathers: Love it.
Poltergeist: Love it. Love the melody of the chorus and love the tone of it. It seems to be one of the only songs on the album that isnt happy-sounding, and has a more taunting vibe to it.
Entombed: Sounds a lot like Crosses and I think I hyped it up in my head too much, but still intriguing. And like I said, it feels like the ending to an anime lol.
Graphic Nature: Dark-ish sounding, I like it.
Tempest: Also like it.
Gauze: Could be one of my favorites on the album. Love the riff towards the end, love Chino's vocals, etc.
Rosemary: Love the song, but the outro goes on for too long in my opinion without much going on.
Goon Squad: Could be one of the heaviest songs on the album.
What Happened To You: This does not sound like MX lol. But I love it, I dont know what ppl are tlking about. Sounds quite a bit different, but a kinda light but melancholy feel to it maybe. I dont know, obviously need to hear more, but I'm enjoying the preview.

Lol what? He's given his opinions on the previews and likes some of them, and even the ones he doesnt like, he's said that they're just previews and it could change wen listening to the whole song. You can be a fan without loving everything they do. One of my favorite bands is The Mars Volta, and God I hated their last two albums (before their newest one). Vesanic isnt really a fan of DE and criticizes the shit outta their live performances, yet look at how much he contributes to things here. Personally, I'm one of those Deftones fans that look almost everything they've done. But some ppl are more critical, picky, or have higher expectations than me, and that's where it comes frm.

Judging by the samples, it sounds really experimental and diverse. I think you'll like it mate.
