I would hate it if Deftones released/rehashed the same album over and over again. That is the reason they still give me goosebumps. Different sounds, same Deftones.

different sounds - same deftones is fine. different sounds - different deftones is bad.meaning, when they change til the point that they lose their core - than it's something else.hypothetically speaking they could change so much that you don't recongnize them any more. a lot of ppl seem happy just as long as chino sings to some electric guitars,but it's more to it than that. may seem vague but long time fans will know

I've been listening to the band since I saw them live back in '96 - they sound completely different than they did then and in no way is that a bad thing. They are a band that has maintained their integrity, which is truthfully one of the things I respect the most about them; as long as they stay true to the music they want to write with that integrity, I will always support them. Other "long time fans" may feel differently but that's my opinion.
