Chino's thoughts on Swerve City are making this wait even more unbearable. I love every single album, front to back, but Around The Fur is likely my favorite. I would not even wish for an ATF 2.0, but to hear Chino say that it kind of reminds him of an ATF song....that made my day. White Pony is my second favorite, and the comparisons to that album in terms of dynamics make me believe this could be my 2nd favorite record of theirs. I don't think anything could beat ATF for me. Not because of the music, but because ATF was my first Deftones album and I listened to it from ages 14-17 during a time where so much happened in my life. That album raised and eventually set the bar for music that I look for. Nonetheless, I officially more pumped for this album than I have been for anything since White Pony's release. HURRY UP AND LEAK!!

Woah. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Swerve City DOES end up being the second single, wouldn't it be the second time in a row that song #7 off the album would be chosen as the first single and song #1 would be chosen as the second single? Weird.

Should have been that way on SNW as well imo. Xerces is a masterpiece. Easily my favorite off the album and just catchy enough to be a radio song. I hope Swerve City is the 2nd single though. I love Deftones mellow stuff just as much as heavier tracks but I would love to see them release an assault onto the airwaves just to show people they still got it. I do NOT want to Deftones to become a radio rock band, but all of this new "hard rock" music on the radio is garbage. I want people to hear how it is supposed to be done

Leathers and tempest have been playing on the radio .. that should cover it :3 swerve city may be a better track but really in my opinion i dont think deftones should put their best stuff out there on the radio .. they dont deserve it but the fact that radio stations are playing leathers and tempest is good enough! thatll really show those linkin park lovers wtf real music is!

Yo, I think the hiss reduction on this makes it sound pretty bad, like not too bad, but like its been transcoded or something. Maybe it has been. but I know hiss reduction also has that effect. Is there any uneffected direct rip version?

I like the screams, but the riff is just 1 note being repeated over, i like more creativity. whatever my opinion

I think the simplicity of the riffs is a characteristic of the deftones , Stephen always writes simple but good riffs i love that i don't want to hear some guy dancing all over the fret board just because he can.

Steff can shred and i remember him showing it in an interview or something but i do remember seeing him shred! But i love his simple emotional riffs More than some shredding.. like on battle axe, such a simple riff but man it gets to you! And if i do recall bloody capes last riff where chinos screaming god help me is pretty hard for some beginners :/ you gotta be fast and shit .. i learned it after awhile though

ive looked on YouTube and actually never seen a vid of him shredding its like he doesn't care for it?

I remember on an interview from 2 years ago he was acting as if he didnt know how to shred .. he was all like "people tell me to shred and im just like blleehhh ..." that hes more into simple riffin that gives a dark heavy metal tone .. or thats what i remember .. but ive seen him shred .. it was like a 2 sec bit and another one as well .. wish i wouldve saved the videos to show everyone this guy is no joke :/
