so far ive listen to the complete album with out names tho and i gotta admit i love it (i dont have a copy tho so please dont ask ) from what the songs sound like i kinda pinpointed which names fit which.....so far my favorite (favorite) song has to be romantic dreams ( the way i can describe it its like 3 songs smashed together into one and it sounds fucking dope....the groove tends to change every few seconds and what kinda caught my ear was chinos vocals on there...sounds like that part on tempest were he yells out (road 4x...ahead 4x) but i bit more groovier) ( reminded me of maynards singing)

and as for goon squad= all i picture is me walking the streets of downtown LA mobbing and painting with my friends not giving a fuck and jus causing havoc (WAISTED LIFE)

It’s probably the song that's been most described in their interviews, so you took what they said and applied it and your description of “Good Squad”  makes you sound like a scuzbucket.

I'm still waiting for the day when the Deftones release a fan pack, similar to the one Coheed & Cambria released with their new album. My buddy got it for like $60.00 and that thing is loaded with goodies, I'd pay at most $75.00 for a Deftones Koi No Yokan fan package.

When the album drops, heard it before or not, you will listen the songs you like more than the others.

I disagree. If I play one or two songs to shit 1 or 2 or 3 months before the album comes out, those songs will be like holes in the listening experience that feel more worn out than the rest of the tracks in the album together. I'm an album kind of person. I don't just skip around on records to the songs I prefer more. I want to be able to spin it in full each time and have it feel at least somewhat uniformly new. So holding off makes perfect sense for someone like me.

This. Completely. Kinda had this with Rocket Skates. If you play a song to death, when the album comes out that song sticks out. Feels like it doesn't fit. An album to me is a whole, not just a collection of songs I'll skip through. It takes a while for the newer tracks to get as familiar as the leaked ones and for the album to flow.

Agree. But I never care enough to not listen lol. That said, with DE I played the shit outta Rocket Skates. Listened to it 100s of times before the album came out. Poltergeist and Rosemary I've heard like 5 times, Leathers...maybe a dozen times. Tempest only a couple of times. So I should be all hyped up for the album without overplaying any songs. That said, I never listen to an album all the way through if it contains songs I've heard; I skip the songs I've heard until I've heard the rest of the album. Then I listen the whole way through until certain songs become my favorite. Then I play them repeatedly for weeks until it changes.

I remember wen the DE leak came out, it was just wen I was about to sleep. I'd already been awake more than 24 hrs, but fuck it, new Deftones, had to listen. With all the excitement of new music that sounded awesome, I was no longer tired. Listened to it for a few hrs repeatedly until I was tired enough to sleep...then couldnt sleep because my mind was playing snippets of the album constantly.

Good times, good times. I await the same for KNY.
