It's not a bad song, it's just too orthodox for a Deftones song. I like the beginning but I was expecting some other development after the halfway... but it just stayed the same and repeated itself. Leathers felt a little too short, this one a little too long. It's still good, I just had higher expectations.

I have a feeling we might be in for a treat with Poltergeist on the album.  Like that it will be more intense than the live version.  The screams could be quite a bit more/better and things that we can't hear live that will make it that much better.  But maybe it will be disappointing like it kind of is live.

I think it'll be a lot better ,like the live version but the singing will be perfect I think its gonna be great I can just imagine that live version but with huge screams and soft and smooth melodys its gonna be awesome.

Both Tempest and Leathers are great songs.
Its 2nd day my thoughts about ''it shouldnt be the single'' is changed.
Leathers would be better as a single but im ok with this song.
I wish the video would be good.
But it is Deftones Video and it is never good.

Yeah come to think of it the majority of their videos have been shit or just forgettable ,although I do like the street carp ,BQAD and Digital Bath videos they focus more on the music and capture the energy well,the Change video had a good concept but was done poorly with bad transitions.

Listened again this morning. I really can't understand why some people don't really like the song that much as it sounds like a right monster to me. I feel like there's more of their old feeling in these new songs (especially Tempest) which DE missed.

The deformed noise FX on WP (also st) voice is the one we love.

more interesting than Leathers... still kinda weak. both have hooks and melodies based on half-step whining... cheap.

Was just watching the WP webcast again loved the way he sung in that and the little changes he did like how he scream the "aWaaaaay" part in change and the scream before knife party and also the way he sings the last part of digital bath the "I feel like more" bit it's really cool goes up and down a bit.

Actually yeah, Chino's voice on WP/ST are the best, in my opinion. I dont know if that was down to his actual voice or the effects on it or both, but it just added something to it. I cant really think of the word for it, but something. I guess what ppl are saying about it on DE or KNY is that it's too...clean, perfect-sounding? If so then I can understand that and agree, but to me it doesnt take away frm the album. Obviously everyone has their own opinion of what would make the next Deftones album perfect, but they can only do what they feel is perfect for them, and I'm absolutely loving what I've heard so far, and the descriptions frm interviews and so on, so I cant ask for more.

No offense, mate. I love the distortions on WP and S/T as well, but I still kind of like his clean style of singing e.g. on Tempest. Shows me that he improves as a singer

honestly, these songs dont excite me. kinda weird, both belong to the small 3-5% of the deftones catalog i dislike.
