Love how I post this shit on Wednesday and it gets taken off and put in the Bullshit thread. Nice steal!

I never read or go in the bull shit thread. This is just talking about songs, the album or its artwork. Nothing bullshit about it and I'm sorry if the mods removed your post. Where is it, I'd like to see, I didn't steal it.

When Chino says heavy he means sonically, usually. Just a reference point. I would say that leathers is sonically heavy and that main riff is just flat out fucking nasty...

hands down Leathers has the best scream i've ever heard from chino on any recording

And also some of his worst singing.

I agree and disagree. A lot of times he's referring to the feeling/emotion.

kitesvera

yeah that's the other thing he means, that's why I said usually, obviously not always...

i just realized steph playes the "wear your inside on the outside"-part differently the first time compared to the last time in the end.same notes, different pattern, less varied the first time,  it's pretty cool. favourite part of the song for me but didn't think of it at first  :-[

Vesanic

I disagree with buddyboy101. His screams on the S/T are untouchable.

WGTB outro on vinyl is menacing.

Hexagram scream < Royal scream

Hexagram scream < Royal scream

No. Just, no. Royal just has a very high-pitched inhale, it stands there as the very heavy amazing explosive mgomfgm part of the song but it has no real lyrical interest and isn't tainted with any kind of special emotion. Hexagram has got some of the saddest, purest, truest, angriest, powerful screams I've ever heard on any song by any artist, they're here to help the lyrics have a real impact, they're unmatchable, emotionally and technically.

I'd say most of us do. The production on every record after him feels flat compared to WP and ST.

Royal scream better than Hexagram? No.

im going with royal over hexagram (off topic talk)

I can't explain what it is. . . The albums up to Saturday Night Wrist (and including that album to an extent) feel more spacious, like the band has a more open style. . it could go anywhere. With diamond eyes, it all feels compacted. Know what I mean?

I have to say I enjoyed Saturday Night Wrist but the albums before that are classic Deftones to me. I hope this new album has more room to breathe, I guess. I don't want Diamond Eyes part 2. I like the album but I feel like their older releases had more staying power and more things to look for and go back to.

Not being a hater just saying, and I love deftones. I just fear for the future of the band.

that royal's scream is one of my favorite ones but i hate that distorsion effect they added on it

It wouldn't sound that good without the distortion.
