Ok...4th time listening to this. The chorus doesn't bug me as much. The song has a good flow throughout. I just wish that they would speed it up a little in the bridge where is singing "...from the inside, from the inside." Not the whole bridge, but just twards the end of it so it seems like it gets chaotic and then stop or just slow down again. Get what I'm saying? Idk..I'm high...and yeah.

So I like it...great dark sound with an awesome groove, just wish it had that one difference to really make it shine. 8/10

Woah... That was harsh! I think you should show Chi a bit more respect than asking people to "move on"! I agree Sergio is killing it in this but kicking Chi while he's down is still pretty pathetic..!

Pathetic and kicking Chi "while hes down" Come on man you know I did not do that. All im saying is why bring down the situation by saying something like that. Everyone is excited about the new song, and he makes a statement about Chi. Even Chino said in a recent interview that Chi questions were getting exhausting, and this is a perfect example of what he was talking about. Something exciting and new going on with the current deftones line-up and someone bringing up Chi. "Move on" meaning enjoy this moment and stop dwelling on the past. I meant know disrespect to Chi at all.

Been waiting to comment here. First things last, Vesanic is one of the biggest fans on this board so dont front. I must say that he hated DE (we have debated this as you know Bro) and I agree to disagree. Man man V is an old school soul it seems, so don't hate. Opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one and here is mine.

I noticed also alot of people are thrilled by the "Intro" nothing spectacular but to me but as I have listened tothe song I do feel a SNW groove there. I will also say that the back end of the track from about 2:45 on makes my nipples hard.

Can not wait to hear the rest of the work by our boys.....no further.

I liked the chorus :/ I loved the twist in the vocals instead of goinging beautiful and soaring (poppy) it went all dissonant and weird.. There's a lot going on in this song it's bouncin all over the place.


I like the theme of the lyrics too.. Good song, at first when they got to the interlude/bridge part i thought it was gonna suck but the china/cymbal thing at the end of each measure made it really tasty

oh.. the theme is divorce / separating / go your own way etc..

I listened to the song at least 10 times last night and when I woke up this morning I had no memories how the song sounded at all. Not a good sign :-/

After watching the video, I went back to the song to see how he could call this song mellow and I see it. It's just kind of grooves...hard. Like it doesn't really speed up or slow down. It's flows great, there just isn't anything (besides the into) that screams chaotic. Like...there is no WOW moment. I'm not saying it isn't a good song, it's just missing that one point in the song where its like "holy shit, this is intense". But yes...still a good song :-)

Listened to the song again 6am this morning.

Stood outside with a smoke and a cup of coffee, watching the Sun rise. The chorus was perfect for the scenery.

Really beginning to love this song...especially the chorus (VES! )

First, I'm really impressed, not trying to be a fanboy there, but this song is really really good ! It really clicks with me, definitely!
The bridge is amazing (around 2:50 mark), the guitar, with the scream at the end, etc. Amazing !
I really love the way chorus and verses mesh into one another too, I think it's completely new for them, and I find it fucking awesome !

Only complaint I would have is that voice is a little bit too loud compared to the instruments.
Hopefully, mixing is not definitive, and album version will be different on this front...

I completely disagree.  A song doesn't need to be Elite to not be mellow.  There is no way, no how this song is remotely mellow.  The closest thing is the chorus but that doesn't make a whole song mellow and the chorus isn't mellow either.

I know you don't agree with that statement, you previously said that. So I tried to explain MY thoughts on how mellow it is...so yes..I am comparing it to their more aggresive, UNMELLOW tracks because we're talking about Deftones. Why would I compare their track to say.. Converge? Whatever...There is no right or wrong, just expressing my thoughts.
