says it wasn't an official statement but still was reliable for most of the people to get too excited and let down, see how very few guys knew it wasn't straight legit, with all the hype from poping up articles and recycled stuff too just build up more sheer amount of misinterpretend, as soon as WB took the news as false should be indicator enough to be very sceptical, instead more digging up worms out of holes happened, which as you can see was just wasting more time than necessary. Instead of waiting for  deftones or responsible staff to get things out correct, the trust in "close to people that know for sure" is still astonishing despite the numerous time that those have let up, it is just that build up before the coin drops that WB loves before letting the cat out of the bag

As I say, building up hype without having it out, if deftones' fans wouldn't be so loyal they just fear to risk it, but it's thin ice ever since they started with all the underground leaking, Personally I'll just let surprise me with things rather to have them forced with false information. If they do in intentionally what gives, people will forget about it soon after the Album drops, it's quite ironic that whenever something is rumored about deftones, you never know what you get except if it's official, Warner tries to spoil this now and building more hope towards it, though preorders haven't even begun officially either, they don't care as much about them anyways as most comes with day to day promo. They just want to be in the mood to decide for it.
And about the statement on the false statement, well it wasn't on deftones.com so none of them involved they said a new album is coming, with now unintentionally spread title list out. Nothing more, they couldn't care less if they even know about it rumored. Eventually one of the Staff guy reads it in the next NME or something but claiming deftones have to justify for rumors, c'mon you know them long enough if they aren't getting constantly hammered with the same questions they hardly care or remember It's a Management thing so the tour will be much more of an insight scene than any of those recycled articles.
