Am I the only one that keeps refreshing webpages, like Facebook etc. because I've gotten so used to refreshing pages in anticipation for the leak?

I wasnt doing that for the leak, I was expecting to come online and see everything had exploded with the news of the leak (which it did). See what you all did? You've destroyed your minds haha.

It wasnt even bullshit, I dreamt I was reading through 50 pages of ppl tlking about their opinions of the new album (which I have been doing). It's stopped now, I think I was just getting too excited.

That, I'm not too sure about? But I think the quality the MP3 is will remain the same once converted to a cd..
Once its a low quality, you can't really make it a better quality if you know what I mean?
Kinda like if you crumple up a piece of paper, you can't make it perfect again.

Hey guys. One of my first times posting, but just wanted to throw in my two cents on my "most amazing" to "still awesome but lesser" tracks...

Speaking in regards to my top two, Goon Squad and What Happened to You?, I honestly believe that they have some of the most refreshing and unexplored Deftones choruses that I have ever heard. Not sure if my list was, at least partially, biased by the fact that I am a drummer and the rhythm section of the top tracks are ridiculously pretty, but I stand by the list.

Just my personal assessment.

PS - Romantic Dreams' drums are the sexiest I have heard from him in years. Not that he could do any wrong before, because Abe (to pull a quote from another place) is a national fucking treasure!

yes, Koi No Yokan is a fucking masterpiece.  Deftones have written their own 'Disintegration' or 'Violator', if you know what I mean.  this is their atmospheric magnum opus.

This is precisely what I was thinking.  An entry into their catalog that is a departure from their previous efforts, yet somehow familiar; redefining the band itself and the genre.

Thank you! Glad someone said it. It's like the people who say those things, don't realize the reason they like Deftones to begin with is because they constantly reinvent themselves with each album and keep you guessing.

Poltergeist absolutely owns me right now! Possibly their best hard song in my opinion. Love to hear it back to back with Rocket Skates at a Concert. Imagine.

Goon Squad kicking some Major ass to. The Riff Reminds me of stone temple pilots.

Entombed scaring the living shit out of me. Drawing out so much undealt with sadness and fear/vulnerability. Song puts me to tears. Going to have to put that song on skip until i figure out what the problem is.

Still feeling my way around this beast. It's a fantastic album. Gauze is the highlight for me right now though. There are still flashes of this record that are hamburger though, but the vast majority is fucking steak.

I am going to stick around. Nice to have a place to discuss Deftones year round! I am really excited to see live performances of more KNY songs......though I am not sure if they will sound very good live lol.
Since everyone is doing it, here is my list...

ATF
WP/KNY
SNW/ S/T /DE

I can't properly list the three middle albums. They all have amazing songs that evoke so much emotion in me to this day. Way too early to tell if KNY will drop or rise, but it is such a strong album that rarely leaves me reaching and wishing for something more.

In fact I would maybe even list WP in with the other 3 middle albums just because I played it sooo much back in the day.

Lastly, I have a Deftones 'Ultimate' playlist that just has my absolute hands down favorites from each album. Had 19 songs before KNY, but there are 5 songs from KNY that I added to it (Swerve, RD, Gauze, Goon, Rosemary)...the most from any album in their catalog. There a few more I may put in there too.
