because the as you said they are photographers so mostly they are taking photo's and not video, also no matter how hd the camera the sound would most likely be shit anyway they would have to record from soundboard and sync it to get any real good footage.

Bangkok was a great great show... Old school set list , mostly old songs, but very well executed! I've been to many of their shows, and this one looked the most "professional". Really great performance, it's one of the body I've heard them sound.
It was not as raw as it used to be, but still impressively well executed!

As for the "notable", they dedicated head up to Chi, with the crowd singing "chi cheng, chi cheng". Pretty emotional, you could see it's still fresh in their memory (obviously).
I didn't manage to get to do anything with them unfortunately, I talked with Juan a bit, but they left the venue pretty quickly after the show.
I did bump into chino and Juan at the airport the next day, it was a nice surprise.
A last word on the crowd, which was really awesome, everyone was singing along on all songs, new, old etc. Amazing!
Venue and sound were pretty good too, they had set up a small scene outside the venue, and had small local bands play (acoustic) before the show started, it was great.

All in all, a great experience, and I'd definitely be there for more next time!

Edit:
By the way, not sure where it's from, you can see me in picture above ! ;D

Shit man - my brother, best friend and I flew in from Mumbai for this show and it was just awesome. One of the best shows I've been to. And fantastic set list :)

Aww, we could have had a SL meeting there, too bad we didn't know ! So sad, as I had to get tipsy all by myself !!     :)

During Tempest half the power went out. Chino's guitar and Sergio's Bass not working so they take off their instrument and sing along with crowd lol and they did a cover of Hanging Touch by NKOTB
Amazing show! great crowd! and Bloody Cape was fucking beast!

Its so amazing to see the Asian Deftones fans. For some reason, it makes it feel like Deftones isn't this little niche band...they're a worldwide phenomenon! Like...they were once this little band from Sacto yet 20 years later...they have toured and seen the whole world!
..Yeah don't go there,

I let you get to me

yeah yeah.

Cherry Waves, eh? Pretty cool. Nice performance too, Chino fucks the lyrics up though :P

Still wish there was a shot of Hexagram from that other show.

the greatest artists are worldwide, America likes to keep great bands underground, that's why its overground.

Honolulu soundcheck was:  Rosemary, GOONSQUAD! Entombed, Cherry Waves.

Rivière ("for Chi") was also played in the latter part of the set!

Someone came out and played guitar on a song (cherry waves?).  I do not know who it was.

Chino may have broken a finger during the show, prolly from one of his many stage dives.  Nevertheless he was all smiles during the show. Mayhaps was that do to the Aloha from the crowd.

ANattyRat

Goon Squad, wow. Wish they'd play that properly and not just as a sound check, it'd be really cool.

Just to add to this, I'm not sure if he's been doing this at other shows, but during one of their last songs Chino strapped a go pro to his head and wore it for about 30 seconds before taking it off. I really want to see that footage, hopefully they are filming for an upcoming dvd.

sly always had the best pics and everything. I use to check his site way back in the early 2000's.

deftoolsys07

Yeah, because I doubt they played Passenger, instead of 7 words as the closer.

I've seen them over 10 times in the last 10 years or so, only once have they ended the show with something other than 7 words, (Headup) and it was on a 2 night show, the first of which they closed with 7 words lol

They didn't play Passenger, the closed with 7 words. It was a decent performance, but pretty meh setlist!! Way too much new stuff, but they did at least play Elite 😄

darkomilicic

This is the correct one.
