I just wish Beware wasn't so low in volume compared to the rest of the album... sounds like that song was produced differently

i wish the volume in beware was so low it was complete silence

Thats's funny, because i wish you would voice your opinion to yourself...in complete silence.

i still love DE but SNW pwns it. i was never a hater of either record though. adrenaline is the only deftones record that i just feel meh about.

you don't like adrenaline? wtf..

i like it plenty, just compared to the rest of the discography it doesn't shine as much. for me anyway.

go to the music player, open the DE album and listen :
1- DE
2- Royal
3- cmnd
4- butcher
5- skull
6-prince
7-risk
8-do u belive

and then write here that you really hated it

Probably my least favorite Deftones album (especially vocally), but I really love Beware, Cherry Waves, Xerces, Combat and Rivière.

Mein will always be the worst thing they've ever done...along with Rats. Fuck, I hate those songs.

I listen to this album more than Diamond Eyes, the songs are original and possess the ambience that attracts the listener. Chino's vocals just add to the enjoyment of listening to the whole record. Songs that stand out:
Kim Dracula, Rapture, Cherry Waves, Mein, Xerces, Combat, Riviere, Beware and Hole in the Earth. Rats!rats!rats! is heavy but doesn't define the true essence of the album and for the instrumental, its nice slow jam and I wont rate pink cellphone.

In other words, I can never get bored of listening to this record over and over. Despite Stephen's minimal efforts, Chino managed to channel his ideas with the help of Frank (who stands out on this album after Chino)

I love the vocal production on Mein plus its such an original song. A nice mix of deftones with a hint of punk. I keep listening to it but can't find any flaws in it. Rats! has poor lyrics and the chorus breakdowns just annoy me ( you can thank Shaun Lopez for that lol )

It's what would have happened if he got more input on SNW

haha nice pic

From what I have gathered from interviews, Stephen came in last into the writing process and I know very well Moreno walked all over Saturday Night Wrist but Steph had his golf addictions and decided to "kick back" on this record. Later on he stepped in, which was great because his songs stand out. Anyhow, great product! Maybe it needs to grow on some people

Always happens with Deftones records.... the album prior is liked more after the latest album wears out.

yeah it's actually a Syndrome.  I forget the name of it but someone on this board coined the phrase.

Love Saturday Night Wrist. It has more soul than Diamond Eyes. And I've said it many times, but Riviere is one of my all-time favorite tracks.

Agreed . Riviere is a great track . my favourite on the album
and mein is pretty solid if Serj had a bigger part in it it would have been cool

Aye, that was me. I was speaking from personal experience, but it seems it may be true for others.

or - it's you who simply cannot see how lousy this record is but will understand it with time.

anyway,i think this board will fucking crash if another snw thread is created

I don't get it? - it's really not much of a departure from other Deftones albums.
