...Because it wasn't on the album. Same reason Crenshaw Punch is a B side, It was recorded for an album but did make the final cut.

After watching PJ20, I wish Cameron Crowe would do a documentary as amazing as that one with Deftones.

Lovers is a B-side.

That seems to be the only one though. Other than that, nothing. Every other album has at least two b-sides or a hidden track. "Adrenaline" has all the unused songs from the Like Linus era, "Around the Fur" has "Crenshaw Punch" and "Bumble D", then "Damone" as the secret track, White Pony has "The Boys Republic" plus "Back to School", SNW has about 16 different Ezrin demos, then there's self titled and it has "Lovers" and that's it? I highly doubt that there is only one b-side from s/t, Chino is probably keeping something from us. I almost consider "Finger of Death" from that era since it was written probably only a few months after that album was released.

You did say there was none, I corrected you. Considering the amount of time and money put into making S/T there must be heaps of unreleased shit, that just hasn't surfaced.

I dont understand this comment from Chino:

"But another newbie, "Nylons and Suspenders," marks a first for the 20-year-old band.

"Musically, it's something that we haven't done before," he explains. "It's very... sludgy, like a chainsaw-type of riff but very slow. I shouldn't say this, but it's clunky... in an awesome way."

That's from an interview about Diamond Eyes. Do they mean "Nylon and Suspenders" was supposed to be a song?
Rocket Skates?
Pushing you back but still you ain't goooooooooone!!!!!!

Yeah, we only THOUGHT  that White Pony had only "Back to School" and "The Boys Republic", then we were told  5 years later that Black Moon existed.

Self Titled has Lovers and XO

Im well aware of that, I have just always thought of "Lovers" as a normal part of the album, so I didn't even think of it as a b-side at the time until you reminded me.

Time and money? It took the usual time for a new Deftones album to make S/T (two-three years)

Ves said "XO" is from the SNW days im pretty sure.

TheShade1989

Wasnt there an interview with Abe and Frank (I think?) where they said they had quite a few songs that havent been released yet? Just because they havent told us about them, doesnt mean they dont exist.

Haven't released from the S/T sessions or in general?

"When they left Seattle and headed to Los Angeles to mix their fourth album, the Deftones had completed 14 songs, one of which can be heard on the Matrix Reloaded."

This means there's two extra songs from the S/T era we have no idea about. This is a very exciting discovery to me.  ;D

WHAT *ELSE* ARE YOU HIDING FROM US, CHINO.

For some reason on Spotify, Black Moon is called "XO". Dumb.

I noticed this as well. I thought it was strange.

Deftones-argentina

Xo comes from the self titled sessions, somewhere it was described as a piano, (isntrumental?)  piece, not to be confused with FTIHYD which was from SNW.
as a matter of fact, XO was going to be released in the Bloody cape single with lovers also on it. Never happened.

I just wanted to ask about the source of the title of the track "Damone". I never read it on any official thing released by the deftones. Was there an interview or article or where does it came from? I want to know that for years... ???

Found proof: http://www.deftonesworld.com/loudside-february-1998-stef-and-chino-interviewed/

Whats funny is when I first read some of the track listing for Diamond Eyes I imagined "976-Evil", "Sextape", and "Beauty School" as being *really* heavy dark songs and "Rocket Skates" as being a slower song. lol.
