Why didn't Chino scream on the studio version like he does live?  I was waiting for it on the 3rd one when when the music got quiet.  Bummer.  That would have taken the track from Good to Awesome.

Probably thought would make it too similar to Leathers which precedes it. Tempest too, both songs have a quiet moment broken by a scream.

Poltergeist has been uploaded to Tumblr. Search the Deftones tag (would link but I'd probably get banned).

Awesome. Much better than how it sounded live frm the few times I listened to it. Ah, I should wait for the entire album to leak/release, but meh. I'm not like ppl here that need to listen to the whole album new. That said, I think it'd be better if it leaked all at once rather than songs coming out one by one. People will hear most of the album before it comes out. Also, what the fuck is the point in leaking one song? Surely ppl do it either completely or not at all.

I agree; it's far better. Really, really disliked the song from the live versions I'd heard and was pretty adamant that my opinion wouldn't change mainly due to Chino's Rats/Rapture/CMND-esque vocals, but I really like it. Will probably grow into loving it--already prefer it to Leathers and Rosemary, after all. As for the point in leaking a single song, I've no idea. People are just reluctant to share for whatever reason.

Yeah, perhaps.  I could just feel his vocals building up to a scream, and was let down.  I would trade the weak scream on Tempest for a scream in the middle or at the end of Poltergeist.
