if you don't like a band only because they're mainstream, you're a douche.

WELCOME TO THE AVANT-GARDE-TRONICA MONDAY!

DAN DEACON - BROMST

CHECK IT OUT
Genre: weird folk / experimental / indietronica

Dan Deacon - Snookered (new album Bromst drops March 24th)

Note: this album is definitely not for everyone. It's a very 8-bit-ish collision of chaotic indie, pop and strange electronica. Highlights - Build Voice, Snookered, Padding Ghost. This album is great on drugs, lol. Some of the songs might be a little annoying but other ones (especially Snookered) are blissful.

Imagine a hi-speed version of Animal Collective. Non-abstract ODDSAC. Something along those lines.

A very nice indie/folk album with wonderful melodies, quite catchy, nothing over-the-top experimental/unique. A very fine album to enjoy on a sunny evening.
Standout tracks: Tattoo

p.s. if you like the album, BE SURE to check the other one, 'Civilian'.

ALBUM #2 - Bvdub - The Art of Dying Alone

Ah, droney minimal ambient techno.. It's in the background, it's in the back of your skull. Super honest, super dreamy.  Repetitive.

I started listening to S:T Erik - From under the tarn again today, after a period of listening to almost dopesmoker almost on a daily basis. It's not hard to hear the inspiration from Sleep. So good.

lostpilot

Sleep are much more chaotic and noisy, while S:T Erik keeps catchy lines and hooks!

black coffee

That track by Jon Hopkins is already among the best things I have heard all year.  Hope the entire album is just as good.

And the video is so cool, too. All thats needed for a stylish video: a good camera, and a kid with a blue eye skateboarding in slow motion ;) luv it

the album is very very nice. Tracks are rather different but there's the same hi-fi modern electronic sound. Get it! :)

Crazylegs

I really enjoyed Jon Hopkins and Nosaj Thing.

not me. I'm living in the past and haven't joined the streaming revolution.
