Deftones, Mastodon, Glassjaw, Etc. Preparing Releases For 2011 'Record Store Day'

This years edition of the now annual "Record Store Day" has begun to take shape. Set for April 16th, the UK branch of the event, which showcases independent retailers through a number of exclusive releases, recently revealed a number of efforts that are being planned for the big day.

There might be a slight possibility that Around The Fur will get pressed on vinyl. Whether it happens for RSD this year or not, I don't know. But I have a hunch it might happen this year. Possibly an Adrenaline proper repress as in not a picture disc and not just the super rare promo that's floating around.

To commemorate 'Record Store Day', Deftones will be releasing a special edition 'Covers' LP.
This LP is a collection of classic Deftones' cover tracks, pressed together on limited edition vinyl for the first time ever. Only 5K of these will be produced. The set spans a wide range of genres, including covers from artists The Cure, Drive Like Jehu, The Cars, The Smiths, Lynryd Skynrd and Duran Duran.

Covers will be available on April 16th - you can head to www.recordstoreday.com to find participating stores in your area. See below for the artwork and full track listings.

EDIT: the record store a block away from me is taking part!!! FUCKING STOKED! hopefully they'll be carrying this. they all know me there and know that i'm a HUGE deftones fanatic so i imagine if i went in and asked them to put a copy away for me they'd have no problem with it.
