All the shit about "the good old days, the good old days"....FUCK THAT!! this band is still together and making awesome music after all these years!! the good old days are still here man!! it's not about if they play their shit on the radio not! I mean....they still sell out venues when they tour so there are still plenty of people who like them out there!! Pearl jam isn't even close to as big as they once were....there first 3 albums had like record breaking sales and shit.....they just have a core of very loyal fans! I look around here and i don't see the same loyalty.....infact, i was taken back by the shitty attitudes some people have...even to the point where there is a thread asking who is the most useless band member!! WTF is that?! I don't wanna hear shit about Tone fans are a different breed...that's bullshit!

The Deftones deserve better than that IMO....And they will get better than that from this fan, that's for fucking sure!

Im really happy they had a great year, they deserve it!! But I don't think they'll ever be back where they were... Steph needs to loose the 8 string and go back to the 6. Its really holding them back IMO.

didn't deftonesworld used to say "biggest underground band in the world" I always thought that summed up deftones perfectly. many people have heard of them, lots of people like them, lots of people dislike them, a few people LOVE them, a few could give a shit, and most media could care less about them. that's it in a nutshell.

I just brought it up cuz someone said Deftones don't have near the fans that Pearl jam does and I'm saying, Pearl jam doesn't have near the fans that Pearl jam once had.

I know Deftones are still not as big...but i think they are bigger than this place would have us think....Diamond Eyes really should be bigger than it is too.....but i do know a lot of people who went to the Blackdiamondskye shows just to see AIC and they came away Deftone fans.

I'm a die hardcore DEFTONES fan and always will, and lot of people still the same, it's like a devotion, you see that on every concert they do,only a few bands have that hardcore follow that deftones have and the fact that this forum aren't plenty of deftones fans telling how good and how they love their music, doesn't mean that a lot of people still with the same love for their music...because the reaction of their fans when they appear on stage, is amazing, people just going mental!

I'm counting the days till this tour.....4 shows in 5 night!! shit is gonna be amazing! I can't fucking wait!! and to be able to sit in on sound check....awesome!! I plan my vacations around tours and this will kick of the late spring/early summer just lovely!!.....my only request is for set list diversity.

Deftones are my favourite band by a country love.I love them and visit this forum almost every day but I hardly ever post. There are probably loads of fans like me, who are really excited about the Tones but don't post that much so you don't hear about them.Unfortunately I don't get very excited about new of Deftones U.S. tours simply because I don't live in the States.I live in a faraway corner of the world in a country called South Afica.To be honest I haven't met any Deftones fans in person here but I have come across loads of them on forums.Now if there was to be news of a Deftones South African concert I'd be going crazy and posting like a maniac. If there are any other South African fans reading this, I think we should get a petition going, for them to visit us here in S.A.
Other bands such as Korn and very recently 30 seconds to Mars (whom I'm very sorry to have to mention in the same sentence as Deftones have put on concerts here which have been a huge success so I'm sure Deftones could pull it off quite nicely.They are always talking about how they like to tour new parts of the world and have new experiences so I'm sure they'd really enjoy it - at least they'll be able to say that they played on the African continent. The problem is I doubt they know much about South Africa or take it seriously - to them like a lot of other U.S. bands we're probably just considered some backwards country with wild animals roaming around but I'm sure they'd be pleasantly surprised by how modern it is here and by the number of fans that they have.
If by some chance anyone who is associated with the Deftones or maybe even one of the Tones themselves reads this, please, please come down here and play!!!!!! They need only talk to other bands to see how viable it is to put on some concerts here - or perhaps even be part of a festival. We have a very cool festival every year here - one year we had Korn, Chris Cornell, Muse, 30 seconds to Mars (again), Kaiser Chiefs, Red Jump Suit Apparatus and some other bands play and it was a huge success.

I have maybe met 2 or 3 fans in my lifetime but i know there are tons, their shows are always packed so i don't understand. I personally don't get a chance to rant as much cuz of a block at work and when i get home i always have shit to do.

my OPINION: im kinda glad deftones are underrated cause some people dont know how to appreciate good music and burn it out. i keep them to myself, sounds greedy. but today i made a guy a deftones fan with just one listen. i felt happy aha but he was a music lover not a trend(mainstream music) follower.

I signed up to this board 8 years ago. Back then the newest album they'd made was White Pony. It's not the same place anymore. There were lots of different people on here at its peak and it was a real buzzing community. But times change and so do tastes. I still love the band. I have them tattooed and whenever they're in London I go see them. But I don't really have much interest in always checking a message board now. There's barely any activity here to check anyway. I just check to stay updated.
