doesn't look like eros to me. we've already kind of seen artwork for that and it certainly isn't this. this is most certainly diamond eyes related artwork. probably will show up on shirts or buttons from their store soon.

i just always assumed it would be along the lines of the artwork from the store and a few other places on the old deftones.com. the whole cupid thing and romantic artwork. this is one that has already been posted in the eros thread i think. i'm sure there was another picture but i could be wrong. someone might have it.

I dunno because when Deftones.com had the insect imagery that wasn't indicative of the DE artwork. There was also a Deftones New Album Winter 2008 banner that someone took a snap of but that probably wasn't indicative of artwork either.

Whatever it is, it's pretty badass. Like the mood of it a lot.

yeah but we wouldn't have diamond eyes. then again we'd still have chi and i'd take chi over diamond eyes any day (even though i love that record).

yeah I figured you wouldn't. Don't get me wrong, I'd take Eros over DE based on Melanie alone but I'd always prefer 2 instead of 1. I guess if Eros turned out to be incredible DE might have been a giant letdown,  even though it already was for a lot of folks. It is interesting to think what would happen with deftones had chi not had his accident. That is If there was even a deftones left at all.

cuz even DE is good album and published-adv.ed good but didnt sell so much..

Well, they seem to hint around writing more records like when they talk about how fresh things are with their relationships workwise. They keep talking about how they've been writing the DE stuff and how refreshing and great and fun it was to do so. It wouldnt have been attempted if that weren't to happen in 2008. I think now, we'll see another album or more even, along with possibly Eros one day. I'm just looking forward to the tour and the news that they are back in the studio with Sergio writing another great record while waiting for Chi still! Besides the devestation of Chi's accident, other things have seemed to work out well like you said "Eros would have been the last record for Deftones". Glad it's not man. But it is bittersweet with Chi's situation. It sucks, but the band is excited more than ever. They said they feel like a new band and that is just fucking the greatest shit i've heard in a looooong time my friends. Chi will be welcomed back by a fresh band with open arms if god will set the timing just right. All we can do is wait....
