This is one of the most senseless and boring trolling incidents I've seen in all my internet life.

Diamond Eyes IS a great album, made in a very difficult moment for the band and it helps them going in the right direction as a band and as a project. As we all know, it's easy to notice which member has the most important influence in every song's composition, but so far, Sextape is a song by Deftones. Chino is a Deftones band member, isn't it? :S

If sales are more important than to stick to the true deftones sound then why not make an entire record that is soft boring and easy listening?
You seem to care more about them getting radio play and sales,not so much than about the art.

I've seen this a thousand times. Bands evolve, guys, but sometimes fan don't. Do U want them to be releasing White Pony forever?

Just the fact that the song is called, "Sextape" makes it a awesome choice for a single......doesn't matter if it's a heavy song or not.

I've been a Deftones fan forever, but their videos ALWAYS suck and I guarantee you, it won't be any different this time around with a track like fucking Sextape. C'mon It's not even a Deftones song, It's a Chino solo stuff/Team sleep song.

What a truly pathetic post man.  Its going to be a great single and its going to attract a lot of new fans (which is the goal of a single).  Its a great radio jam, and a great driving song.  All of their albums have a song or 2 that is softer.  A true deftones fan would know that!  Wise up

true deftones sound? i'm pretty sure there's not really one. they change it up every time and usually have several different sounds on each album. i think we do care about the art which is why we accept that they're going to write the songs they're going to write and let them have their creative control. if you want to hear the same stuff over and over again go listen to korn or something. not all heavy bands have to stay heavy and angry their whole lives. and what's wrong with us wanting a band to get the recognition they deserve? in a world of justin beiber's and lady gaga's it'd be nice to see someone with talent get some airplay.

The videos suck in your opinion. Lots of ppl love their videos, or at least some of them. Personally, I dont care about the videos anywhere near as much as the songs themselves, but some of them are interesting and creative. Chino is part of Deftones, and Deftones make whatever music they wanna make. It isnt this specific box that they have to fit in that makes them "Deftones". It just isnt the sound you think of wen you think of Deftones; but what is? They have a lotta diversity. Anyways...it makes for a good single. Might get more fans. I first gt into them by listening to their softer songs, and now I like pretty much all of their songs, whether soft or heavy or both. They deserve to have a lotta (real) fans, no matter how they gain them.

I've been a fan since Adrenaline, so when they slowed down on White pony,it was little of a sell out for me.You know slowing down songs so they can be released as singles to get big. And thats what happend. Deftones to me are the first two records. I'm sure a lot of you young n00bs discovered Deftones through the records that was written to get known all over the world like White Pony or Satur day night wrist. The records when they abandoned
their style to sell more records. That's why you guys think Sextape is Deftones and vice versa. To me, isn't. It seems it's just too many fan boys here that swallow everything thing they do.
If Chino would take a shit in a jar and sell it on deftones.com i'm sure a lot of you would bid on it.

Korea Rounding you are way to caught up in yourself, wtf?   Your all like 'waaaahhhhh i liked them before you because im obviously the first person to hear them so obviously i get to tell the world what a band i have nothing to do with sounds like.'  Jesus grow up, if your so old to have been a fan of the first 2 discs then why do you come across like a 10 yr old?  I really dont get you. 

There are commercial things that they have done yes but fuck do u really want them to go bankrupt? and to say White Pony isn't their sound and furthermore to say its commercially tinged is fuckin nuts.  How the fuck would they have known beforehand that it would sell as well as it did?  The reason it sold so well is definately nothing to do with slowing songs down (WTF - You ever even been involved with songwritting?) its because the record is so FUCKING GOOD.  From my recollection at the time everybody i knew who got into them thru white pony, did so thru songs like 'elite' and 'korea', not just 'change' and the other songs you seem to bizarrely deem commercial. 
Also the first two records are totally different from each other, totally different!  And talking of slowing down, have you heard of 'mascara', 'dai the flu', 'Mx'?  They are slower because get this little jem of wisdom, they are different songs to say '7 words', 'Root' etc etc....

Your the one here who is putting your scence of commercialism above the music, the art, the deftones!   I dont like every song on every record but i dont go branding the songs i dont like as commercial and especially not on White Pony.  The only questionable record is SNW in terms of their direction with it but they freely admit that and its still got a bunch of great songs on there. 

You really need to just listen to the music and stop giving your ignorant opinions, no one cares, we all love deftones.
