Deftones To Film Video For New Single

well, I'm happy with the choice, but not only because it's one of my favorite songs on the album - I think it's a good choice because it different from what they've released over the last few years and seeing as how their softer singles have had such great success before I think it'll do very good. I'm not bitter enough to not want them to get the exposure they deserve

I think "Royal" or "Prince" would have been great singles. A nice mix of aggression and softer vocals on each. They both kind of sum up the two extremes of the Deftones sound. I'm sure "Sextape" will make a good single even though singles have never really mattered with Deftones since "Change." Radio and TV just don't latch on to the 'tones.

i think the softer stuff is attracting a lot of new deftones fans. i've met quite a few people that have stumbled across diamond eyes as their first real exposure to deftones outside of their big singles and sextape has been one to really open their eyes to the diversity of the band. i think deftones stopped pandering to their heavy metal fans a long time ago. also how many real hardcore deftones fans haven't accepted and appreciated the softer and more catchy stuff a long time ago. they've kind of always done it. i'm not saying sextape is the best song they've ever done, in fact it's probably one of my least favorite on the album, but i think it's a good move on their part and should make for a solid single. even still i think beauty school is a much better single choice for many of the same reasons. it's just a stronger song that i think could reach a larger range. see i want lots of people to listen to deftones. the more people listen to them, the less shit they listen to.

I've been a Deftones fan forever, but their videos ALWAYS suck and I guarantee you, it won't be any different this time around with a track like fucking Sextape. C'mon It's not even a Deftones song, It's a Chino solo stuff/Team sleep song.

What a truly pathetic post man.  Its going to be a great single and its going to attract a lot of new fans (which is the goal of a single).  Its a great radio jam, and a great driving song.  All of their albums have a song or 2 that is softer.  A true deftones fan would know that!  Wise up

If sales are more important than to stick to the true deftones sound then why not make an entire record that is soft boring and easy listening?
You seem to care more about them getting radio play and sales,not so much than about the art.
