I'm finally going to be able to meet these guys on Sept 12 in PA!!!  I just wanted to know from people who have met them befor, how are these guys to there fans?   They seem great in there interviews.  Jerry Cantrell seemed like a great dude in his interviews and than when I met him he was a total dick. Kind of lost a lot for that him after that.  I just hope these guys actually are into the whole meet and greet thing.

There Will Be Blood

LOL you payed 150 for that??? When you can meet them for free if you wait outside out back.

Subliminal

The guys are fuckin' awesome. If they aren't you've caught them in a bad mood. But damn.. Stef is so awesome to hang out with alone, so meeting them all at once must be a trip.

Speaking of bad experiences, I met Munky from Korn and what a fuckin' asshole he was.

Oldnewtype

yeah it really depends on how they're feeling

I've only met Chino (very briefly), Sergio and Stef. Chino was in a hurry, but Sergio was the sweetest guy ever and he was talking to my friend and I for a long time at ULU. Met Stef before and especially after the ULU show and he hung out with random fans for 2 hours, talking and preaching haha. They both just seemed like really down to earth genuine guys who enjoyed meeting fans and signed anything anyone presented to them. My friend and I were the only ones going up to Sergio and we thanked him for playing and such. He seemed happy that we liked it and commented on it, and said nobody ever said that to him. Most people here have probably met them tons of times though.

From what I gather from others Chino ain't too into the whole meet nd greet shit, even though he does most interviews. Same goes for Frank to an extent (bit of a miserable bastard!)

But Stef sounds really cool if you like to smoke up and chill and chat about all sorts of shit for hours with a blunt and a few beers!

I think Abe is pretty chilled too if u catch him at the right time. Sergio sounds really cool too and he seems very genuine and nice in interviews etc., seems to have a lot of time for people...

I could be wrong, but maybe Chino just suffers from front man syndrome a bit!

I know, based on others' experiences and my own, it just varies on how "up to it" they feel, which is natural for anybody. I met them once before a show, when they seemed kind of preoccupied, and another time when they were super eager to talk. I'm wondering how your experience will be, since you technically paid for the meet-and-greet.

I couldn't see them ever being totally ice-cold to a fan, unless they were seriously annoyed.

stoneFeD

so whos goin to the ventura show?

Hidalgo

from my experience Stef is the most talkative, then Abe(he's super nice), then Chino, cool when he was around but seemed busy, but still was friendly and seemed interested when he was around, and in dead last by a mile Frank, he didn't seem the slightest bit interested to meet any of us

Vesanic

Abe is the coolest, seriously. :)

I only asked them autographs, but they all seem very nice to me. Me and my man showed Sergio our support during the concert and he wrote "thanx" before his name on our cd. Nice guy. :)

I met them a couple years ago and they were all really cool. I was completely star struck but they were really nice and made me feel totally comfortable. I was practically fucking shaking when I walked up to chino and introduced myself and asked to take some pics with him, but he was so relaxed and down to earth that it just felt like talking to a friend that I already knew. That's what it was like with all of them, they were all just really nice and made all of us who were meeting them feel completely relaxed, I could see that chino could tell that I was really freaking out when I first met him lol, but he immediately made me feel totally at ease. Chi was especially nice as well, it was a real honor to meet him, especially considering his recent problems. He just seemed totally genuine and really appreciative of the fans. Hope all goes well for you man, I'm sure it will. Tell us all how it went and share your pics if you take any with them.

Can I use this chair? Seriously can I use it?

Ive met them all a few times, Chino aint the most chatty but certainly isnt rude. one time I got him to leave a voicemail on my friends phone and he said "Hey Gav, its Chino, I thought we were gonna hang next time I was in town?!" so he is quite a funny guy, Abe was really friendly but had his kids with him so was concentrating on them, Frank was a nice guy, Chi was a VERY nice guy, very humble and appreciative of the fans and about 3 years ago I was lucky enough to take Stef golfing, top guy, very chatty with some interesting theories on life!

i went to see their  show in amsterdam a year ago. i flew from poland with some friends and it was one of the best trips ive ever went on.  my first time in amsterdam, to see the deftones for the first time live after listening to them for 10 years. if that wasnt good enough a day before the concert im chilling with my friends in a coffee shop (bulldog) high as fuck and the next thing you know chino walks past us and goes into the gift shop.

i went after him all star struck and shit (hes my favorite vocalist of all time) he was buying some lighters or something and i told him i came to see his concert, bla bla bla and asked him if he wanted to smoke something. ofcourse he said no, that hes with his girlfriend, so i asked him if when hes done we can take a pic, he said sure. after a couple minutes chino walks out and he was actually looking for us and came to our table to talk for a couple mins. he was saying how his sisters husband i polish and that he has to visit and stuff. he was pretty cool, seemed appreciative. told him the music keeps getting better and better, took some pics. i actually asked him when diamond eyes was supposed to be out, and he said november 2009 or something LOL. then he went off with his girl.

i heard a lot of people say hes an ass hole but i was really surprised how cool he was to us. maybe its because we werent all on his dick like some fans probably are. one of the coolest things that ever happened to me.

I've met them 4 or 5 times...they're all really cool. Chino was Chino, ready to get it over and leave. But Stef and Abe are the best. I've sat and talked to Stef for over an hour about Nashville and golf, and Abe is just a doll. Chi was a sweetheart too,and Frank...meh...  The first time I met them I was super nervous, but when I would see them they would be back to back shows,so they would remember who I was.  Stef even talked to an old friend of mine on my phone. Great guys...love em.

I will get to meet them in Charlotte, NC. for the first time in September. I have been a fan for so long I am already trying to figure out what to say to my musical hero's.

This is a great thread. Thanks for all of you "lifers" who have had this experience for sharing. Really good stuff!
One last Thing...You Should Beware the Content!!

Thank God that you........ love..... at all.

I met them 10 yrs ago at tower records in cherry hill nj, they were real chill, i'm also going to the pa show and am doing the meet and greet, real excited about it
We are ok in a misguided Sadist way

Inkblades

Never met them. Hope to change that.

I've "met" them all quite a few times... its actually fairly easy if you are patient and dont mind looking like a groupie for a few hours... if you show up early to the venue (like hours before the show), you're bound to run into them going to and from the bus at some point..  every time ive talked to them, they've all been super cool to me... Chino signed my red WP vinyl, and when I handed it to him he paused and said "...this is a good record!", and back when Abe had his "Trust no bitch" sign up on his kit, my recently divorced friend asked Abe to sign it and he did & personalized it for him and got a good laugh out of it...

Its kinda cool that they are doing a legit meet & greet... it would be nice to get to hang out with them without having to wait forever or get bitched at by security... but $150 seems a little steep... I paid for the VIP treatment at the Puscifer show in Portland, OR last year and that was only $75 - and that included a front row seat, a meet & greet w/ Maynard and a private wine tasting...

I hope Deftones' management dont have guys hanging around trying to shoo away fans that might try and meet the band for free... oh well, if you've never met the band its worth $150 to get the meet & greet, a ticket , and a shirt and all that... the memories are well worth it... but you'd probably get more satisfaction out of it by waiting for them outside...
