It's definitely their saddest.

This

no way, self titled is. maybe you havent listened to them for a while  :)

maybe snw is a bit more mellow but s/t has a lot more sad and depressing vibe to them

I weas more referring to the statement that Diamond Eyes made me appreciate SNW more.
And whilst "saddest" may not be the best term to describe SNW, in my opinion it is the album that was made when the deftones were at their least cohesive.

there are great musics in SNW.

beware, xerces, riviere. even cherry waves (except the lyrics...)

but, as an "album" is really bad. there´s no line...the songs are isolated from each other.

At least, with DE...they got this feeling back.
I think that fits the album.

I wish they'd start playing xerces live again. I love how they change the intro up.

Far away

I wouldnt say chilling.. more like 'less inspired'. Too say the least..

I get a dual feeling listening to this record:
When I feel like chilling out and when I feel like getting aggressive.

Definitely a good record when your with a girl

first time I heard Rapture, I was happy. first time I heard HITE, I dissapointed, a bit. first time i saw HITE MV, i lost my taste.

I don't get if you mean "chilling" like music you can chill to or music that gives you chills. Hole in the Earth gives me chills. As do Combat, Beware, Cherry Waves, Xerces, Kimdracula and Riviere. That's all very emotionally intense stuff to me.

S/T i see in a very different light. It may be depressing sounding but I find it's actually incredibly uplifting and optimistic. It's amazing.

i freaking love SNW. it just owns. period.if someone doesnt agree then hey, thats cool.

Well some songs are "chilling" yeah... however theres like only 4: Xerces, Beware, Cherry Waves and Riviere.
Good also when you're going to sleep.

The rest of the album, not.

If I had to say the best track off this album, it would be "Cherry Waves". Absolutely can't not go without this track. Its a fucking Deftones classic. There's no other deftones song that sounds like it.

The only part of Riviere that is sad is the lyrics really. It's Beautiful. And they are only sad when I read them, not when I hear it.
Pushing you back but still you ain't goooooooooone!!!!!!

Not that I care but I am just happy people seeem to be coming around to SNW. Very unappreciated it seemed before. I loved it at second listen the day it dropped. First listen, I was confused and felt like it was just a filler of an album. I str8 up love this record. Different discoveries every time I hear it. Plus my wife appreciates it too minus Rats :)

I dont think it's the most chilling, but it has some really beautiful and mesmerizing songs (Riviere, Beware, Cherry Waves, Xerces), so maybe in that sense, but the rest of the album take away frm that a lot. Not that they're bad songs, but that they're heavier and more aggressive, so as an album it doesnt really have one general feel to it.

Xerces=The saddest
Combat=The Loudest
Kimdracula=The Best

Period

This.

I disagree. Rivière is the saddest of SNW, to me. Maybe the saddest song of the whole catalogue.
