Around the Fur

Just creative as all hell and it holds a lot of good memories for me. Self titled is a close second just because it has my favorite guitar and vocal sounds. Terry nailed it on that one. White Pony has become a bit boring for me but it's still an incredible album. i've also gotten a bit bored of adrenaline and compared to everything after it just seems a bit juvenile. i guess a lot of people like it for that raw energy they had when they were that young but for me the songwriting just got better and better from there. Diamond Eyes is a masterpiece and it really put a new light on Saturday Night Wrist for me. i love them all but i'd have to rank them like this.

My fave has always been ATF just because it was the first time I had ever heard deftones.  I was out buying CDs and thought the chick on the front was hot so I bought it. I also picked up Tool's Aenema cause the cover was wicked looking(this was around 1997 when I was 12).  Talk about stumbling onto great music by chance.

Having said that self titled has become my favorite in the last few months. When it came out I didn't give it a chance, only because it was so different from White Pony I guess.

Ha, I'm surprised that ppl voted for SNW. Most ppl on here say they hate it or dislike it except for a few songs, so I truly never thought ppl would vote it as their favorite.

SNW Is beating Diamond Eyes already? Usually it takes awhile before people bash on the new album and love the previous one. Like S/T and SNW.

Around THE FUR!

I'm going to have to say Around the Fur. It's a classic for me because that was the first Deftones record I bought. I was heavily into "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)" at the time, so I just went on a limb and bought it -- one of the best CD decisions I ever made. I fell in love with Chino's voice after that and Deftones became my favorite band (They still are). White Pony is great and a close second, but it wasn't the first Deftones album I bought.

I enjoy Adrenaline a lot, but it's the Deftones record I really don't listen to very often. I might pop it in my stereo once a year, but that doesn't mean it's bad. I think out of all of their albums, that one is probably the hardest to get into. Deftones have made solid, good albums but my least favorite is the S/T. I think it could have been put together better, and it's another album I really don't listen to all that much. I actually like Saturday Night Wrist a lot and I'm surprised many people don't. I thought it was put together very well and I was giddy with joy to find out Annie Hardy made an appearance on the record.

It's too soon for me to say anything about Diamond Eyes. It's fresh and new and that's the problem--it's fresh and new. Of course you're going to like it when it first comes out but until a year has passed, I really can't say much about the album.

Right now I would put it like that, with DE, Adrenaline and Self Titled all tied for third place.  Diamond Eyes is working it's way up the list, though.

I fuck with that B-sides collection a lot, but cant count that as an album.
