Now when I look back at all the other nu-metal albums being released and over hyped around White Pony, Deftones were definitely one of the best back in the 2000s. It's sad how trashy music always gets more airplay...

Nice. Stephen seemed to have a bit of creative writer's block while they were making Gore, so they kind of had to leave him behind a bit until later on when they'd already formed ideas. And I love Gore and I'm sure the band are happy with the album they made, but they're not Deftones if they're not going into their next album trying to do things differently, and I think it's cool that they want Stephen to have more input than he did in the last album. Hopefully he will actually be more inspired and will come up with ideas that he's proud of and happy with.

The time has come to release Finger of death. One must not always look forward, even though your band is called deftones.
Radiohead dusted off the song nude from 1997 and released it 10 years later on "In Rainbows". It worked out very well.

It's practically a tradition of Radiohead to dust off old songs. Nude, True Love Waits, Man-O-War, Lift, I Promise, etc. I'd love to see Deftones take a page from their book. I get the feeling Chino isn't crazy about FOD because it reminds him too much of the dark days. The sound of that song personifies darkness.

My only fear with FOD now is that it's very possible that a studio version would never capture the INSANE energy that one live recording we have is. Chino doesn't even sound human in that performance. He sounds like a vengeful ghost.
