I hope this hasn't been posted before already: http://www.theguardian.com/music/2016/apr/14/deftones-it-took-a-tragedy-for-us-to-really-reconnect

Very good read. I'm afraid they will withdraw S/T and SNW songs form their live setlists. S/T probably is the most underrated Deftones work.

They won't. Hell, they play Hexagram and Bloody Cape somewhat frequently at least. They played WGTB on their tour with Incubus a lot. The other songs, yeah, pretty much, and same with Saturday Night Wrist. But will they completely stop playing songs from those albums? Nah. Dudes played Combat for the first time because some fans told them they should play some rare songs. They played RIVIERE!!!! Consistently. When I saw them, they played Hole in the Earth, Kimdracula, Cherry Waves and Riviere. That's a lot of songs from an album Chino hates playing songs from. They'll do it, just not so often.

Battle-Axe, Deathblow? That's another story. Love those songs, I hope they play those songs at least once in the future. Doubtful, though. Some of the songs from those two albums aren't dark and depressing despite it being at a difficult time for the band, so I guess those are the ones they're more willing to play. Which pretty much erases those two songs I mentioned, haha.

Sure they often play Hexagram and Bloody Cape. Recently they also played WGTB and Needles and Pins but Battle-Axe and Deathblow should be a must, I love those songs.

You lucky bastard! HITE, Kimdracula, Cherry Waves and RiviƩre on the same show?

Penicks

couldn't bear it longer than thirty seconds, what an awkward dude, seemed nervous as shit

from_musings

yes he was. initially I felt the same way, but no need to worry... chino notices the interviewers level of retardation rather quickly, and then chino carries the interview on his shoulders through out the whole thing. you can watch it it's ok

Here is an article from German Metal Hammer magazine.
Interesting point:
Chino asksed Stephen if he should hire a guitar player for his parts for the next tour because he still thinks he can't play that good. But Stephen said to him if he can do it on the record, he can do it live too.

Chino also did an interview with them.

So the second to last question is, if there is a song about Chi on Gore?
Chinos answer: Not directly. We have not written a song with such purpose. Something I do not anyway: I do not write a piece with a precast idea. When writing I try not to call a spade a spade/not to call things as they are. Sometimes I discover connections later on, but that just happens- and it's much nicer, just because we did not intend to. Nevertheless Chis death really touched us internally and creatively and seeps through in everything we do. There is no other way, because he played a major role in the founding of our band. But we did not written anything on purpose.

C doesn't believe in his own guitar playing for this tour or Stef's? I believe he means his own is that obviously correct?  Only reason I ask is because of the way it was worded and he could have been screwing around with him I dont know lol
Pushing you back but still you ain't goooooooooone!!!!!!
