Fuck me, the show was fucking off the chart! Chino absolutely NAILED Birthmark...and he seriously went nuts, like Chino from the club days!

MTV or some major film crew was filming it, so I can't wait to see this shit hit the internet/t.v!! Videos and shit coming up later, I'm fucked and need sleep. Got to talk to Stef for a few hours and man, it was just awesome. Thanks for your time Stef!  8)

It was beyond amazing.... Subliminal - Stef was so cool wasn't he?  :) Richie from Sol Invicto was just as great as he is on their Facebook as well. Met Stef before the gig as well and he was just so cool. Met and spoke to Sergio for quite a while, and he was excited that my friend and I spoke to him, lol. He was great about posing for photos too. We spoke about Chi for quite a while, and how Chi was a close friend of his for 18 years.
Kind of met Chino, was very close to him before the gig but he was in a hurry. The concert was AMAZING.... It was just flawless. Chino was in such a good mood, joking around and doing little dances :) He jumped up on the speakerstack and rocked out, which was cool. Then he did the biggest jump down and nearly hit Stef lol. It was just beyond great. I lost my spot at the front for helping out a girl that was fainting. Bad move lol.
Got lots of more photos but am selling some of them, and am too tired to think at the moment - but here are a few photos.

I thought it wasn't such a great night

Seriously? Why?

I'm guessing because of the uninspired set list, the fucking deftones karaoke going on (that's never happened at a 'tones gig i've been at before), two people doing a sex dance to beauty school right in my personal space (yuck). the deftones were good, that was probably the best performance i've seen chino give. the sound at the beginning wasn't right though, too much bass.

haha

in terms of the set list you're right. i didn't realise until this morning but it's bang on what they played at the other shows this last week. A little bit of variety from the band wouldn't go amiss. In the 13 times I've seen them over the last 10 years, they've only surprised me once (by playing Damone). Also, finishing on 7 words is just for the whoppers in the crowd - even Chino said last week if he could retire one song that would be it, so why leave the song till last?

I do however get the feeling that the band is genuinely enjoying the journey they're on right now where from about 2003 onwards touring was clearly a chore for them.

Vesanic

What surprises me the most is that they haven't played Engine No 9 nor Headup once since the beginning of the tour.

yeah

i concur. i've not seen them having fun onstage in a long time. if there's one good thing, and i use the word good loosely, to come from chi's accident, is that they all seem to realise what's important, and that to get paid to play their songs to people all over the world they're actually pretty lucky.

i'm not sure the set list for the show was entirely their fault. i'm guessing because it was being recorded for mtv, the song choice was influenced by that.

Nix

Did anybody else get into the aftershow?
You're probably going to hate me but my friend and i got taken in by Sergio- we both felt really sick so didnt even have any of the free booze before leaving after half an hour! im going to look back and kick myself but im off work today, ill in bed- feeling like shit!
Good night though!!
*this chick's living in a new car ad...*

It's kinda cringe-worthy when people are chanting "CHINO!" all the fucking time.

I don't understand how some of these people got tickets or even knew about this gig. So many people looked like they didn't even wanna be there...

Looking back though it wasn't as bad as I first thought. Lotion was sick but I felt like they were rushing WGTB to get that over and done with asap. Yeah I couldn't hear the guitars in the first two songs because of the bass but they sorted that out.

Highlight of the night for me? Crowd surfing during Root and touching Chino's ass. Score! :) lol

Yeah that pissed me off abit. Although Stef and Abe got some chants and the massive 'Chi Chi Chi!' chant was epic. But I always find it embaressing when Chino gets all the praise.. what about Frank? Sergio!? they all play crucial roles.

But saying that, I think the major praise for Chino was what set him on fire. I've never seen him like that, EVER the only times I can think of are the Adrenaline/ATF era videos. Was amazing.

I loved that little comment Chino made.. ''Where the fuck have you guys been the last 6 years!?.....infact, where have I been the last 6 or 7 years!?''

Despite peoples moans about the setlist, that was easily one of the best shows they've ever played. The  chemistry is all there, they were all pulling faces at eachother, laughing, joking around, this is what being in a band should be all about.. fun!

Argh I fuckin' love Deftones!!

Preach it brother! we Got our wish indeed, i was jumping around so much to birthmark, that song makes me rage!!! he nailed it so well!

I wish they'd play minus blindfold, RX queen, Deathblow..all the underplayed tunes!! Ive never been a big fan of root but i still jammed to it.
And i agree with the chino chanting, cringe. I love sergio though, hes always so cheery and happy hahah.

It was totally amazing!  I havnt heard any of the other shows recently so i thought the set list was fine.  First show ive seen properly in nearly 7 yrs and it didnt let me down.

Didnt get to meet them or anything cuz i had to look after my girlfriend so that wasnt really on my to do list.
The singing along and chanting all just added to the atmosphere.  There was nothing wrong with any of it.  Chino even had the crowd singing parts anyway.  Fact is, theyve played a hell of a lot of shows by this point in their career and its all just gotta be for fun now or there would be no point.  Just whatever on that one for now anyway cuz its irrelivant. (plus i chanted all their names but got kinda drowned out)

I get the feeling a lot of the people there were students who maybe got the tickets cheaper or sumthing cuz a whole bunch of em looked clueless throughout.  This one guy kept nearly elbowing my missus obviously pregnant stomach just because he was freakin out about other guys checkin his girl,  he doesnt realize how close he came to being fucked up the stupid john terry haircut wearing chav clothed chest puffed out not even watching the band with any sence of enjoyment muva fucka.  Why was he there!?!

Anyways, i fuckin loved the whole set, and all 5 guys were on blistering form.  Totally worth the £150 it cost in travel and tickets

Great show last night dudes!!!I would have love to see them play needles & pins!
the crowd was wild I was constantly battling to keep my glasses on...they fell a couple of times but I managed to hold them!
chino was really interactive, even played a bit of drums!
This was my second time seeing them!but was by far a lot better than the first one!and felt a lot more personal to see them in such a small venue!!!
And meeting Steph after the show was really great!he's a nice dude and has an hold on all conspiracy's around there! lol

I have a couple of pictures I took I'll post them latter!
