Three, actually. I don't do this for every band but when my favorite bands come out with new stuff I support them to the fullest extent. Like I said, it has been four years since I spent money on a Deftones record, I don't have a problem spending 40 bucks or so for a physical copy, a digital w/ bonus tracks and a vinyl.

If sales of one format suck, for example vinyl, then the next release may not get vinyl. If the iTunes w/ bonus tracks sells like shit then you may not see bonus tracks next release. I am not only supporting a band I love by buying thier product, I am also sending a message to thier label that these options are important.

You do realize that bands make hardly nothing off of physical releases/Cd's so really you are mainly supporting the record label to continue being greedy. I think we can all agree the record labels are needed but a new thought paradigm has to be brought to the forefront soon.

With all of this talk about losing the concept of a full album and just doing downloads makes me upset. I love albums. I do not listen to mixes or have a huge playlist on my ipod or winamp because I always am in a mood for a bands album and listen to that album.

the band dont get much if you look at the % ...but if all the records sells a lot it will be millions to the band anyway. and if the company get a lot of money from one band,they will support them more to the next release with producers,vidoes,comercials etc, so deftones will benefit from it in other ways too. stop being so cheap and making up this reasons for not buying it. if deftones get a little - then its enough reason for buying it

Never said I wasn't buying a physical copy. I just do not see the point in buying the itunes version for 3 extra covers. I will buy a CD version and a vinyl version and just pirate the 3 bonus covers. If thats being unfair to the band in your eyes then we will have to agree to disagree.

But with deftones I downloaded the leak and will buy the CD because I love the band. People need to get off their high horses about pirated music. If a person pirates a CD and loves it he still might go see a concert or two of that band....and that generates more income for the band than cd sales which primarily go to record companies who have no idea what art is or what makes music beautiful...just money.

You just repeated everything I said man. I downloaded the album early but will buy it because I love the deftones. And the Lady GaGa line really makes no sense because I do not like her enough to buy the cd but I like the deftones enough to buy 2 copies. I am just saying there is no problem stealing music as sort of a way to see if the cd is actually good. I get to test drive a car before I buy it... same thing.
