Frank's effects are my favorite part of the band's overall sound. The "Change" sample is my all-time favorite  effect. I really like what he brings to the live element as well. Love that atmospheric soundscaping. It's pretty surreal IMO.

Yeah, it fits in so well and really contributes to their otherworldly kind of sound. I love the part on Digital Bath though with the...um...dripping/weird kinda sounds on it.

No denying it - Frank is an integral part of the Deftones sound.
I love what he did on Diamond Eyes (the song).
Every time I hear it I love it more and more - I think it has a lot to do with Franks samples.
They're so haunting and fit so beautifully in the song.It gives the song so many extra layers without being in your face which is exactly what I think he is trying to achieve.
Of course there's loads more songs I could mention but this just stood out when I was listening to it last night.

Deftonic

I really agree that Frank has stepped up his game on Diamond Eyes. The one thing that irks me though is that he always adds stuff after all the rest of the music is made, if he wrote main synth parts and added atmospheric, subtle stuff behind it and THEN add the other instruments, it would sound fucking orgasmic. I really want to hear a song that's all Frank, and I don't mean like one same synth note like in the last verse of Rocket Skates and CMND/CTRL, I mean like a full song with melody
"Don't worry Seth, you're aiming for a small margin."

That could produce some really interesting results.

I think MX was his finest work.

lol I've been hear for years and I just HAVE to laugh, this phrase comes up after every album. I heard people say it after s/t, snw, now this one. Franks always been an important part of the band, even on adrenaline. They just let him 'shine through' a little more on this one, maybe b/c of the lack of chi?

Never noticed Frank before Diamond Eyes, huh ? There's a song called " Fireal ". Sounds familiar to you ?  :D

Hell yea he kills it on Fireal, everything from the intro to the weird acending and decsending chromatic notes behind the guitars. That song is an epic wall of noise.
BTW i love what he does on the bridge of Around the Fur....creepy/awesome. And the intro sound effect from BQUAD which i thought for years was Chino.  And the "sparkly" effects on MOS. Ooh ooh and MINUS BLINDFOLD. All the members are integral...which reminds me...i like Sergio, but i really miss Chi :(

I wouldn't say it's his finest work either or that something really really stands out in MX, but gotta admit that his work brillantly fuses with the other instruments. The samples on the verses and Chino's distorted voice on the chorus, etc.

Just that fuzzy drowning/gurgling/laughing/screaming thing he does gets me err time. Makes the song so creepy.

while Frank's work can be heard throughout every album since ATF, it's usually been nothing more than a few small effects and stuff you barely hear. it's simply been there and it's made the songs sound better. but this time around he's part of the riffs, adds his own melodies and really lifts the songs to entirely new places.

I'm impressed to say the least.

Wow! deftones fans talking like there was no frank on adrenaline. Look at them go!

Love his shit on Rapture. Such an odd song.

Much meaning can be conveyed, clearly, with our eyes, so it is often said that eyes can speak.

Do you have such kind of experience? In a bus you may look at strangerburberry, but not too long. And if he is sensing that he is being stared at, he may feel uncomfortable.

The same in daily life. If you are looked at for more than necessary, you will look at yourself up and down, to see if there is anything wrong with you. If nothing goes wrong, you will feel angry toward other's stare with you that way. Eyes do speak, right?

Looking too long at someone may seem to be rude and aggressive. But things are different when it comes to stare at the opposite sex. If a man glances at a woman for more than 10 seconds and refuses to avert his gaze, his intentions are obvious, that is, he wishes to attract her attention, to make her understand that he is admiring her.

However, the normal eye contact for two people engaged in conversation is that the speaker will only look at the listener from time to timecoach, in order to make sure that the listener does pay attention to what the former is speaking, to tell him that he is attentive.

If a speaker looks at you continuously when speaking, as if he tries to dominate you, you will feel disconcerted. A poor liar usually exposes himself by looking too long at the victim, since he believes in the false idea that to look straight in the eye is a sign of honest communication. Quite the contrary.

In fact, continuous eye contact is confined to lovers onlyhermes, who will enjoy looking at each other tenderly for a long time, to show affection that words cannot express.

Evidently, eye contact should be done according to the relationship between two people and the specific situation.
