Frannkz0r, how can you not hear all the 'frank sound' on this album?? ts on everysong

I hear it man. All I'm saying is that his work on DE was a lil bit lame.

Stef made the crickett sound on beware with his guitar

I heard that too but I am pretty sure it is not true. If you listen to live stuff you can hear it is exactly the same as the album.

Yea, I think it's Frank that creates that sound live, since Stef doesn't have a guitar on him in this video.

Check out the video from 1:02 to 1:20 [HD] Deftones - Live Summer Tour Rehearsal Phoenix, AZ, USA 05 11 2007 [16/16]

Also, Frank is the shiznit! I enjoy all the sounds that he contributes to the Deftones!

I think it's just as good as his work on SNW. The more I listen, the little more bits I notice

while Frank's work can be heard throughout every album since ATF, it's usually been nothing more than a few small effects and stuff you barely hear. it's simply been there and it's made the songs sound better. but this time around he's part of the riffs, adds his own melodies and really lifts the songs to entirely new places.

I'm impressed to say the least.

??? I was completely lying on that one i know that Stef couldnt make his guitar sound like crickets

The good thing about Frank's work on DE is that it's so consistent. It kind of ties the whole album together and gives it a theme.

Well, that's what I get anyways...

Totally agree!

Franks bits stand out more and more, I can hear him a shit load more than any other album.

I think this leak version is unfinished. Felt like layer of studio touches are missing.

Wax And Wane

I've yet to hear the new album.... But I feel that White Pony would not have been as amazing had Frank not been a full member on that one. (Since he was "part time" til then) The layers he put on that album really stand out to me. I mean imagine "Change" with out Franks kick ass "Whale noises" Lol.  :)

Yeah or the haunting intro to Korea just as Stephs riff kicks in. Pink Maggit, Digital Bath, RX Queen, those songs would be pretty empty without Frank, without a doubt. I think this is why Diamond Eyes mirrors White Pony for a lot of people already.

Wax And Wane

Korea! :-) Wow I remember seeing them right when White Pony came out and them opening with that song. There was a huge red curtain with the logo on it covering the stage and then frank started fucking with all these cool samples. When the band broke in to it the curtain dropped. Lol. I love the shit Frank does live. In between songs and so on. He's very under rated in my opinion.

The self-titled album is where Frank's sound and the sound of the rest of the guys were in the biggest harmony.

beaverwithfishyshoes

give the man deserved credits, no denial he always stands behind his board like a sack of nuts. moves absolutely zero bone this guy.

i wonder who makes the "wobbly" low melody in Prince verse.. is it keys? think thats gonna be next single btw.

does anyone have info and/or pics of Franks gear, his "pedalboard"?

Yea, it would be cool if someone knows all his specs that he has, or a picture of his complete live setup.

wax

im curious to hear how franks role on eros differs. for some reason i think more frank on eros

ChickenNoodle

IIRC, there some effects on nosebleed as well. But Frank's effects and keyboards are on every album and with each passing record he is more and more noticeable yet hes very subtle as well.

fetisher

Frank is cool.
