the cover kinda of looks dull and lifeless.it's an ok cover.I bet the booklet and the rest of the artwork are more appealing.

yeah or there might be even more fucking owls in there. i suspect people liking this do so because they see it with fan-goggles on. you know, u like this band so much everything around it becomes good somehow. but in the end, its just a dumb fucking bird. if we would see this on some other bands cover we wouldnt look twice at it

Devildriver's last album "Pray For Villians" featured an owl on the cover. Before the album released Dez posted their reasoning for it:

"I personally have been collecting Owls for some time and the Owl in many different cultures is seen as both the hero and villain. In Ireland an Owl that enters a house must be killed at once, for if it flies away it will takes the luck of the house with it. In Australia, Aborigines believe bats represent the souls of men and Owls the souls of woman. Owls are therefore sacred in their culture because your sister is an Owl and the Owl is your sister.

"For the Aztecs, one of their evil gods wore a screech Owl on his head and in the Celtic culture, the Owl is the sign of the Underworld. So, the OWL was the obvious choice as I wanted to feel as connected to the artwork as I do to the music and also give DevilDriver another icon to work with and even further define us a band!"

I'm sure their reasons for using an owl are much different than that of the deftones, but I found it interesting nonetheless. As for the DE cover, I think it looks very cool, but I actually might like the inverted version more

Eh, not too fond of the album cover. I mean, I dont sit here staring at any covers, so it's not a big deal, but to me it's just...well, it's an owl. Matches the music as someone said, but still.
