haha could u stop focusing on minutes and seconds ffs   a song can be good regardless of how long it is and regardless of how many likes it or not.

All I am saying about track length is that 3 mins is perfect for radio airplay, nothing more nothing less. You guys are reading way too much into what I am saying.

Diamond Eyes is purely grounded in the now from what I heard. It just doesn't have that timeless deftones vibe/sound. Hey, if you are a big Tool fan you gotta be loving it! Deftones pave the way and do thier own thing and have thier own sound. I just don't hear it in this. SNW material sounds way stronger than DE.

Chances are if it's on the radio I don't like it. And what are you guys creaming over? Oooooo finally a radio friendly deftones track!!!! Gay....

I hope I am wrong. If not I hope it is the only "radio track" on the disc...

i usually try to listen to the song itself, not go bananas over weither its gonna get big or not.two different things.
a great song is a great song no matter what. youre just obsessed of them getting big as a band, enjoy the music insted.

Sound decent so far - definitely doesn't have the initial impact that Rocket Skates had but I'm positive that once we hear the full track we'll all be mesmerized!

I know i havent heard the whole album yet, but I have a feeling It will be my favorite.  I've worn out all other Deftones records.  I'll still always love them, but Im ready for them to do something different.  Im glad the new song doesn't sound like ATF. We already have ATF.  I want Diamond Eyes.  Completely new/different deftones.

I love Cherry Waves, Beware, Xerces, even HITE. I gotta be honest, that 30 seconds can't hold a candle to 30 seconds of any of those tracks. Those had a sweet experimental soaring quality. This just does not. It is not about how heavy it is. It is about how good it is. Like somebody else said, "doesn't sound like Chino". He hit the nail on the head.

hmmm really?  i personally dont really see a resemblance but to each his own.  I do think Chino sounds different tho.  To me its almost Team Sleepish, or similar to the short Holy Ghost Clip??

100% agreed with everything above. Please explain how you guys can fall in love with this 30 seconds of music. I listened to it 10 times just to see if I am missing something. I can state with certainty that I am not missing anything in this 30 second clip. There just is not much there. The only thing that sounds like deftones is Steph.

This bit is not timeless like other material, in fact it is rooted in '08. Retro and not in a good way. What I hear here is not groundbreaking stuff. It sounds like by the numbers alt metal radio fare.

I prefer team sleep over this any day. That and SNW have an ambient sound that this lacks.

if they played stuff this good on radio i'd listen to radio everyday. no newer radio bands even touch this
