it's slightly more raw sounding that SNW... but it's still missing that timeless quality that most deftones' songs had. You used to be able to listen to a song over and over again and hear something new everytime. I only had to listen to rocket skates 3 times to get the gist. I really think Terry Date was an integral part to their sound. I want Eros.

Fuck with me, man. Now where I listened to it a gazillion times... yes, you most likely heard every detail of the song in less than 3 repeats, but (imho) thats just not what the song was made for (as brainy, deep thoughts material). I've heard it on my MP3-player while I was jogging yesterday and... I can't find the right words for it. It just have the Lotion spirit again. In your face, raw energy, nothing more. But this time with a more... - I almost want to say "dancy vibe", just for the lack of words. It's just so fun to listen to.
I can imagine the whole band in the [studio] again, how they've actually written songs and were creative again. I couldn't do that since the SNW era (like they've said, they often just sending parts via e-mail,...). Maybe that's why I love it so much.

edit: No wait, didn't they made the e-mail thing since the selftitled? Just curious...

Well it really wasnt that they emailed the parts to each other, they just didnt record as a band they just came in recorded there parts then left. and yeah s/t is where it started because chino said he didnt want to fight with stef like they did on WP.
