Yes it is reminiscent of ATF definitely. But also sounds like the consolidation of all their past elements. Also sounds fresh. Sounds natural. Sounds like the music they should be making.

heh, reminds me of when the shorter version of Hexagram was released and how fucking psyched I was about it. then I heard the whole version and was kinda disappointed (I still think the short version is better). and then the album came and it took months before I actually got into it. pretty much a letdown at first.

So I just listened to it on Youtube... It's really great... I love the way it's produced, with vocals slightly more in the background, with the fucking heavy guitar and bass, and that loooooooooud, greasy, slimy sound ! And the song in itself is really awesome too...
Man, it feels so good getting your hands on some new deftones...

i don't think diamond eyes will have any defined bass lines like Chi's (Cherry Waves ATF, etc.) I think it's pretty much like the movie Rockstar, hes just a bass player for hire IMO

Could be yes... I'm listening to it with some nice earphones, and the bass is there... Well, you can't here it that greatly all along the song (I guess it follows the guitar pretty much), but at some points (for instance during the chorus), Sergio does these greats slides, going so fucking low, it's awesome !!!

yea, i can definitely hear the bass in cherry waves, change(in the house of flies), uuddlrle, etc, hite, but not on this track. maybe cause it's so dominated by Stef, and the bass line isn't distinct enough

maybe, maybe not. but considering his screams when they play the song live are way more powerful, I doubt it. actually, that's the only complaint I have about the song - it does sound awesome in the studio, but the "knives" scream sounds so much more awesome live.
