not sure if option is the best overall track, i love it, i love all of them, but something i really dig and am also baffled by is the lyrics in the first verse... "i dream of the day that god will surface and retrieve his nails"

i thought chino was catholic or some shit? or christian at least... so i'm confused..  it just sounds pretty dark, but i love it... one of my favorite lines of all time now...

I'm actually expecting Chino to drop the bomb soon and become reborn or something

Christian faith is that Jesus will come again, and take away his followers. Jesus was nailed to the cross with nails, so I assume that's what he is referring to.

Option, is really the only song that speaks any religion in it. And I don't see that as being a "dark" first verse. From this song, it seems he is religious, but yet he has a giant baphomet tattooed on him now. So like I said before, I'm just going to stop looking further into the meaning behind Crosses, and stop trying to interpret what he is trying to get out.

But yes, great song.

I just downloaded Crosses today and I think it's pretty good.Good enough to make me buy the HD version, which is what I'll do tonight.
It's not brilliant in the vein of Deftones albums but I think it's actually quite cool that it's something completely different from Deftones. Then again the project would have been pretty pointless if we just ended up getting Deftones v. 2.
My favourite is a toss up between 'This is A Trick' and 'Option'
I like Chino's voice - it's almost like a different side of him that he's showing and it would be great to get some more of these in between Deftones albums.
I've heard some people say they'd like Deftones to do their version of Kid A.When I heard Crosses, that's exactly what I thought - this is Chino's Kid A.
As nice as it is, hopefully by the time the tones are ready to record a new album, Chino would have got the soft stuff out of his system so we can get another really brutal Deftones album.
