Dude again deftones isn't nu metal. LB, LP, KORN All care about one thing and thats cash. MTV has there back so they have a huge following of poser kids that can't tell the difference from good music to bad music. I don't want Deftones anywhere near those crappy bands ever.

To get in the music industry and to get "big" and say it is not about the cash is a liar. Who is gonna pay for the bill's? the studio time? the tours? How to live?
Certainly not by being a underground band that plays in your town 4 nights a month.

Deftones are defiantly on a league of their own but they did start of with the Limp Bizkit and Korn guys. It's their roots as much as you people don't want it to be true. They separated themselfs to get away from that scene which is why I love them and hey they toured with Linkin Park on the Back 2 School tour....

That being said I despise Linkin Park. That is MTVmetal.

I agree but I remember them touring with incubus in the back to school tour?

Yeah thats true.
And, i dont know if you remember. But they also toured with Mudvayne, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park and Metallica on metallica´s own Summer Sanitarium Tour 2003.
That was when the tones had released their S/T album. It´s not that long ago really.
It´s after that they started tour with some more alternative rock/hardcore bands.
I think thats the cool thing about the deftones. They can be one of the biggest bands out there headlining festivals with metallica, but they can be very underground too and tour with band´s like Glasjaw, Thrice and other post-hardcore bands.

In the Europe leg they did it with Linkin Park, wish I could have seen them with Incubus. That would have been a gig.

Den- Summer Sanitarium was a huge arena tour, playing to a huge amount of people is great promotion. (Saying they share the same audience as Metallica, Limp and Mudyane) but by then all those bands have their own identity and sound now so their was no worry about sounding alike. Besides Chino did not want to do it. It was up to a vote in the band if memory serves.

Inkblades

I really hope they give us a treat for Halloween.

Saw Deftones with Incubus in Lyon, France in 2001. Great gig!

Well then, if thats true. Both Deftones and Korn are releasing their new albums in February,
They should tour the world together with the albums! Could be really great.
2 asskicking bands with almost the same roots, and they have alot in common.
And no other sucking supportbands, or maybe Limp Bizkit. Their new album is almost done too!
And as it seems, all the bands are returning to the roots, especially korn.
Could be "The Return Of The Nu-Metal Legends" Tour.
Are you kidding, aren't you?

Yes yes, Deftones, yes yes, heavy metal, yes yes, nü metal, yes yes, fucking queer, yes yes...

kameron632

Deftones and Korn have been my favoirte bands since forever!
If they tour again together that would be badass!
But fuck all this "nu metal" shit.
I hate that word!
Deftones are Deftones and Korn is Korn!

i used to be a hardcore korn fan then i grew up and matured. deftones still seemed relevant to me and korn has just become a carbon copy of themselves. incubus would be a good tour mate but frankly light grenades was horrible.

first time i heard 'issues ('99)' at the store 'korn' and i parted ways. i was 17 in 1999. so don't give me too much shit :) they were huge off their first 3 albums. 3rd one was well engineered too in retrospect.
