Portland 10.13.09 - YES they played a new song!!!

bear with me... I am uploading pics to my flickr acct right now... ill repost in a couple minutes... YES - they did open with a new song, only got to hear half of it though -- fucking bullshit security was patting down every single person one-by-one... doors were at 7, Deftones went on at 8, I got in line at 7:00 and didnt get in until after 8:00!!! FUCK Slipknot and FUCK security... anyway, the new shit was tight... no other songs really worth mentioning, the usual recent shit (Elite, WGTB, Passenger, etc), ended with Hexagram... Chino gave me a personal shout out, which was fucking awesome... No mention of Chi, or Sergio... Chino seemed pissed that they only got 45 minutes... he was like "I know, but our 45 min is up so..." and then they ended with Hexagram... no encore... oh well... more soon, ill post my flickr pics in a minute

OK... here's a link to my pics from the Portland show... please let me know if this link doesnt work... feel free to post them here for everyone, I dont really know how to do it... Again, fuck Slipknot and fuck their fans... That was the lamest crowd ever... I was up front against the railing 5 minutes into the show, no one was even moving during the Deftones set except for a couple other guys... just a bunch of fat, methed-out Slipknot fans wearing masks and Slipknot t-shirts... I really hope the Deftones do a proper headlining tour after this... and they really only got 45 minutes... the intermission between Deftones & Slipknot was longer!!! fucking LAME!!! No complaints about the Deftones set though, they sounded tight and played a new song, thats all you can ask for...

I dont even know what it sounded like... I heard the start of it when I was outside in line, if I had to compare it to anything I'd say Good Morning Beautiful... Definitely not as heavy as "Melanie"... oh and they didnt play shit off of SNW, and I could be wrong but I dont think they played a single song off Adrenaline either - thats gotta be a first... From what I remember it was New Song, Summer, Lotion (in no particular order after this), Feit, Elite, Passenger, Knife Prty, WGTB, Change, Hexagram... I think that was it... it was a really short set, only 45 minutes...

I didnt see ANYONE with cameras at the show, unless they were in the back... it was probably 90% Slipknot fans, 10% Deftones... weak... hopefully someone got it recorded...

That was totally my intention but security fucked things up for me... I had floor tickets, and they were only letting people in like 5 at a time... the line was so fucking long outside, people were ready to riot... they finally let us in, but they had all these fucking old people checking tickets, checking IDs, patting people down, putting bracelets, etc... so god damn frustrating, especially paying $55 for the ticket!!! oh well, last year I thought I had seen my last Deftones show ever, so at this point any amount of Deftones is worth it!

the place was pretty empty... the floor didnt even sell out, which seems crazy... it was in a big venue too, the entire upper bowl was empty, the middle area was only about half full... I think a lot of the canadian shows are sold out though; at least the floor tickets are... I thought about making the trip up to BC & Victoria but I couldnt get floor tickets.
