I personally believe they would be doing Chi a disservice if they don't eventually release it. Chino said they put it on the shelf because it would be wrong to go on working with out him (understandable), but it was also stated by them on a couple different occasions that Eros was done before the accident had happened.

The danger of shelving a whole album is that it will sound dated after a while and even if that's not the case, it might not be up to date with the band's mind state, musical progression, whatever...

I just hope it won't become one of those forgotten treasures and shelved forever...

if it's been mastered, we'll hear it at some point. leak or release. here's what i think they should do, after the new album drops, say early 10, then they can tour on that all year 10, then release eros in early 11, and tour maybe 4-5 months on that, then start on a new album and release it in late 12. that way we'd get a new album 3 years in a row
