Straight up kicks my head in every time I listen to it.

And it doesn't really sound like Queens of the Stone Age to me.  John Paul Jones' influence on the album is pretty obvious.  It's funky, it's groovy..the bass lines are chunky..it's beautiful!!!!

typical rock music 40 years ago is about a billion times better than typical rock music of the present, so that in itself is a compliment.

I fucking can't get enough of it.  I hear influences of zeppelin, cream, bowie, and QOTSA, but somehow its also modern and relevant.  THIS is the evolution of rock.  I now have hope for the future of music.

and I'm still considering fucking this album.

I respect Josh more now as a lyricist and a guitarist.  Usually his guitar work is like..all over the place, but it seems tamed and focused in this awesome sort of way.  He's channeling Jimi Hendrix like a mother fucker.  The lyrics blow my mind.  This ain't just another Queens album, boys and girls.  It's a rock revival.

Finally got a physical copy of the album today. Been listening on repeat.

Fucking love it. A tad bit too long, but nothing to really complain about.
