ok, i barely post, (sw00p on me for this if you see fit) i wanted to say something to 'No More Sugar' who seems pretty cool, but also to everyone else who reads. ( not many capital letters eiher, it's kind of like im whispering  )

in my eyes...

elitism is a product of the system not the people. (ie. posts made....star ratings....and also plain old memory 'i remember that person from ages ago')

any forum has the same phenom.
most people come in here for info on the band.
for some it gets so infectious that they check everyday, that frustration would accommodate some interesting shit right?

say there's 10 people discussing something in a circle for 10 years then one dude comes up and asks something that everyone knows and is taboo.....

but remember, we all have a common interest..... it's just the nature of the machine.

and to be honest i love when someone asks a 'n00b' question... and some guy that's endured that same question a million times (sometimes has thousands or 10's of thousands of posts) answers them humbly through barrage of crap. deep down that person can put themselves in their own past....they are the real kings.


ive been around since way back when...way before this site....way before the one before....only 160 posts.... does that matter?

I'm guessing there's a lot of people that seek new info on here from time to time that would kinda be like 'over the theatrics' that know more than you, I and the other combined (history wise) and have crazy stories to boot.

(this is a rationalization/generalization)
but think about it, the people who 'know the most','are closest too' etc wouldn't be on this site in general. the further away you get....the more likely you're on here for info etc (trying not to bring up the extra social context). the people that are fighting for status just look like idiots. and i really dislike when people get slammed for asking a dumb question. i mean i know the answer, but i also appreciate they don't...

Idk if it seems like i'm fighting for attention/status on this board, i don't really know what other people think of me and not that i care that much....but i'm not. i try to get along with everyone pretty much. I'm actually growing accustom to coming to message boards again.

i see alot of what you were talking about every day i'm here more, and i like coming here. I come from a city where there are literally 2 actual deftones fans that i know in real life, and i don't bother going to meet new people...i have way too many drug induced theories about the world which i hope to share sometime, but i'm not one to be in public, i like to be with people i know and am comfortable with, and i get annoyed really easily when i'm with people i don't know.  this message board offers a certain level of comfort when you know you're around people who feel the same passionate way about something so delicate as music.

about the 'noobs'(i suppose i am one myself compared to the rest of you in terms of being here and knowing people etc) i just ignore them for the most part, until i feel comfortable saying something(if it honestly needs to be said...) or just answer the question for them....i mean you can only get so god damn stupid before i just have to say '....you're fucking stupid" and i know ALL of you feel the same way.

i like tool, have all the albums but not all the demos.if i got hold of demo song that was old, i would NOT
go to a tool board as a noob and post a you tube clip to it and tell everybody how amazingit is.
chances are that they would already know about it. thats the thing, just because it new to you, pleeease dont think it news to everyone else ,especially when it got several years on its neck
