That didn't quite make sense, read it. And you should try a little harder. To get the picture and be funny. It was a thought only and toward the fact that we get nothing from these images. If everyone is so anti sergio then why bother listening to the band anymore? Sergio is here to stay. Deal with it. If you hate it so much, find another band to listen to. Or create your own fucking music. They make music for themselves, not for us, we just happen to enjoy what they put out most of the time. i've always hated the saying, "they don't make music for us, they make it for themselves." if that were the case, they wouldn't release anything or play shows, they'd play in their own environment by themselves. people were all over glassjaw a couple of years ago for the same shit and gave the same excuse when they wouldn't face the audience at shows and appeared to treat fans like shit. they make music for themselves and for anyone who will listen and enjoy.

that being said, i don't hate sergio or any deftones member. chi will always be the true bassist of the deftones, but i will thoroughly enjoy any music they put out.

didn't say you did. I didn't name anyone specifically. There just seems to be a fair amount of anti sergio opinion around here. Of course we all want Chi back but the reality is that it looks like sergio is here to stay. If people don't like that that's fine. I just don't see the point in whining about it. No one wants Chi back more than the band, and I'm sure that includes sergio, even if it meant him losing his spot.

I think that you are mistaken on that front. They never courted labels, Maverick came to them. Read some of chino's interviews and it will be obvious that, while he appreciates the fact that the fans enjoy what they put out, whether or not fans will enjoy a record is never really a thought that crosses their minds when creating music. Back to School is really the one of the only examples of them seriously acquiescing to any kind of pressure about "how their music SHOULD sound". If you think that this band makes music simply because they think or hope you will like it, I respectfully disagree. Also, I don't recall the Deftones ever completely not facing their audience at shows or purposely treating their fans like shit.

I suppose you're kind of right. There's not a ton of comments that are specifically anti sergio, just some that say Chi is better, or that they want Chi back, as you stated. All I'm saying is that we all can probably agree with that sentiment being that we're all here because we love this band. But as far as I can tell sergio is a good guy who is stepping up for some friends, and it seems like some people just don't want to accept the fact that he's probably going to be around for a while. I just don't see the point in whining about things that can't be changed, at least not by us. I don't think I'm overreacting, but I respect your opinion Vesanic so I will not start a stupid argument with you. I've been on this board for a long time now and I've always felt you contributed alot to the board and were always quite respectful of everyone, including me so I will end this here rather than continuing on with my diatribe.

as for you musings, I'm not even going to engage you because you obviously didn't bother to actually read or understand my post. I DON'T GIVE A FUCK about the tweets, I never said that, don't put words in my  mouth. Go have another page long argument about how you think the new album should sound, I'm sure the band really cares. Sorry to be rude, but I HATE IT when people choose to hear what they want to hear rather than actually analyze and attempt to understand someone else's opinions the same way they do their own.
