Steph has probably come to the realisation that Chi will never play in the band again. But is he supposed to sit there day in and day out Tweeting shit about how much he missed Chi? No. Life's too short to continuously dwell on shit, will instigate bad vibes within the Deftones camp. Everyone misses Chi but life HAS to go on. Hating on Steph just cos he wrote Vega instead of Chi is just crazy. Find something else in your life to be mad at...

if stef has this feeling, he's got it,what to do. it's just that i don't think it's very sensible or smart so tell the world that he misses vega during recording times without chi and during times when oneloveforchi is posting pictures of a chi in a coma. I don't think my opinion is especially strange, far-fetched or stupid, it's just that it's critical towards a deftones member that is the problem for some people. If i have a really stupid opinion why deftones is good, a view that doesn't make any sense at all, still, 100 brofists and high fives would come at me. it's just what it's like on a fan site.
I think stef is super cool though, he's the engine of the band and wrote riffs that are the foundation of so many songs that meant a lot to me for many years. I think he has a cool style and I always smile whenever I see him in interviews. when i see them live i always look a little extra at steph with fanboy adminiration "damn, that's the dude that wrote all those riffs" it's safe to say that I like him a lot. not that i know him, but you know what i mean.

but I do think he seems a little bit egotistical. if he has moved on and dropped the chi thing like you think, fine, but that does not mean everyone else has, and because of this - he should lie low with anything of that nature. there is symbolism in that picture. yeah i get it, a lot of you don't see it, but don't be mad at me - maybe it's because you are close minded or just have no heart? ^
His "miss u vega" picture was also one step further on something else for me. it was when he said he didn't visit chi. because "I don't like to see him like that." i think it's selfish and it kinda bugged me. it may very well be that chi can hear stef's voice, and by that feel good wherever he is. think it's taking the easy way out and turn your back on a friend just because it's tough. i sure would visit a long term friend like that. it's not about if stef thinks is hard to see him like that,life can be hard and there's little like taking the easy way out in life. the pic was another sign of this egoism for me, it was in the same spirit, in a time when there is extra apparent that chi is away and when many others think of chi. stef probably miss him deep down, but i think it would be common sense to post that pic to vega himself. it would be a rock star showing some respect to people who aren't in his mindset

None of us know what goes on in their personal lives regarding Chi, but I'm as certain as I can be without being inside their mind that not a day goes by wen they dont think about him or miss him. Spending a large part of your life with someone, spending a hell of a lot of time together, and then they're not there anymore? You're not gonna get over that completely, you're not gonna just stop thinking about him. But dont you see, that's exactly why he didnt say he misses Chi. If they wrote "missing Chi" everyday, you'd still find something to criticize, because it's just what you do. You're too critical of them because you see with your own eyes and you dont empathize. You're too busy thinking what they SHOULD do (based on your opinion) that you forget that they're not you, they see things differently, they think differently and they react differently. If they dont visit Chi then we may not agree with it, but does that lessen how they feel? Does posting a picture on a fucking social networking site give proof that they miss him? Besides, Chi's been away frm them for yrs now, whereas Sergio being away for a while was just a brief thing, so he was showing that. It was obviously just a fun, light-hearted picture, not one meant to be interpreted as it was. Now for the love of God, learn to feel some empathy.

Nobody knows what the band/Stef is feeling, so stop trying to prove to other people how they might be so we can get this topic back on track.

I don't think the picture is only a picture at all times. it does matter when it's used. to prove a point with a hypothetical example and to kill the delusion that it's just a picture at all times: after Chi's accident, they didn't say much about it,everyone was in shock. a few months after, a gig was done and sergio was with them on stage for the first time. if steph had posted this picture a week after that show and said that he missed vega and not chi, when there was a time of mourning because of chi, we can all agree on that it would have been completely inappropriate. if you agree to this,then you agree that a picture like this can say a lot in such a position.it's not just a fun picture if it's wrongly used and the timing's off.

time passes but if it had been posted during the making of the d.e, the first record without chi, that woul've also been wrong.of course he didn't and they said that chi was missed dearly even in the d.e booklet. they even placed vega on the side in the d.e booklet pic, not in the same couch as the band. that was nice symbolism to me, and respectful to chi, showing the fans that just not anybody could jump in and take his ordinary place as a full member over a night just like that.that's how it should be done and they did it.

Now 2 more years has passed since d.e and some people start letting go and moving on, and good for those persons. it's just, not everyone have. some ppl still are at a mindset where they have hope and that's why it could be offensive to some and i just thought stef could be aware of it. i personally think the timing was off this time too - because it's during the making of new music. it's not that i dislike the time argument per se, I get it but since not everyone is at that mindset yet,a bandmember should be able to respect that.
